I've always thought of him as quite brash, but he endeared himself to me in his new programme that was aired on Sky 1 last night. In it he goes into a youth offenders institute and coaches a team made up of these young errant lads. It was quite touching and he came across as a very down to earth, sensitive and articulate man.

I like Ian Wright. Although I've never really been a fan of football I still like to imagine him bouncing all over the BBC's studio when England put one in the back of the net against Scotland whilst Alan Hansen stares blankly at the screen, controlling his rage for another day.

Can't stand the bastard. He went down at a game I was watching clutching the front of his head. He claimed to ref he'd been hit by a coin. Despite ref searching for ages he couldn't find anything. Wright then got off the ground clutching the back of his head.

The man's a liar and a cheat and not sporting and in my book should not be role model for kids.

[and breathe ....]

Isn't that what they all do? Diving and play-acting at every opportunity?

Not very dignified, is it?

Can't stand the idiot either. Saw him doing a TV show being a road trip on a Harley across USA, with another American 'proper' biker, and Ian Wright came across as childish, immature, irresponsible, lazy and an idiot. The other guy did all the work whilst Ian Wright posed for the camera constantly. Typical spoilt overpaid man-child who has never had to grow up. But then there's lots of men like that on our screens!

Apart from the above I have no opinions at all.

Are you taking the piss? The Yank moaned all the time and refused to take part in anything. He even turned his nose up at the Grand Canyon!!

    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
