I's all a bit Big Brother to me......don't they keep the irritating little ***** in the house to boost ratings?? Haven't watched BB for years though, but that was my theory way back when and now I find history doth repeat itself on another show!!

Daizie.....Robbie was DEF on summat, had I been Dermot I would have been unable to look him in those BIG BAD SCARY EYES.

I felt certain this would have been a pre-recorded show, can you imagine Simon Cowell faffing about on a Saturday night and then returning on a Sunday night for the results, but Louis wasn't there......hold on it could still have been filmed last night couldn't it..........???

Of course it's live. There would be little point in kitting them all out in a second outfit, when most of them aren't even going to perform.

The twins will probably be in for a while, remember John Seargent in Strictly last year, outlasting better people, simply because the public have a twisted sense of humour.

X-Factor factoid from the last series..

"X Factor star Niki Evans said she was encouraged to cry over her dad's death while appearing on the programme last year, and claims she was voted off after she refused advice from judge Louis Walsh to sing Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father and cry afterwards."

Hooray for the X-Factor!

  • 4 weeks later...

Could there be a less inspiring sight than looking into into the dead, lifeless eyes of 'Danyl' (?!) as he bores his way through another minute of singing? I doubt it.

And can anyone settle an argument? Is that Jamie Archer's real face or is he wearing a clown mask?

We are mostly liking Ollie at the moment. He's the sort of person you'd hope to get when you telephone a call centre to enquire about travel insurance.

So Ollie to win. And if Ollie goes out, I'll be rooting for Jedward. We can't all be brilliant singers and dancers - like Cheryl, can we?

"So Ollie to win. And if Ollie goes out, I'll be rooting for Jedward."

That pretty much sums up the mockney household too.

I actually quite like Jamie, but Louie (sp?) has a point about him being a good karaoke artist, though gawd knows what he thinks he's achieving by that as the whole show is nothing but karaoke meets reality tv.

Big band week was great because it fits the bill perfectly, rock doesn't lend itself to rent-a-mariah-lets-bang-out-the-big-note format at all, which is why it was dire.

I'm looking forward to jazz week and all the Cleo Laine covers...magic!!!

ba-be-dee bab-bab-baaaaa... booop.

'Rock Week' was piss-poor for sure.. but then I don't suppose a one-week Sylvia Young seminar is guaranteed to turn every student into a bona fide rocker.

And you know you've been dissed when even wet-fart weak-voiced girl-rocker Bon Jovi refuses to take part in the up-till-now obligatory 'mentoring' session for fear of toe-curling.

    • A quick update - my InPost parcels are being accepted sporadically at Barry's, but only one at a time and every few days, after many refusals - one was refused SEVEN times over about ten days - and several phone calls. As a comparison, I had a message from Yodel that a parcel that was going to Barry's is being delivered to another nearby store, which is interesting...
    • The "Community Benefits" are documented on P12-16 of the Consultation Document. Basically unsubstantiated estimates that it benefits local businesses, claims that it provides "opportunities" for local food traders, businesses & people (the term "opportunities" being meaningless - I have opportunities to win the lottery) without any details, facts or figures, and discounted tickets for local residents (which unsurprisingly seldom sell out). The only direct financial benefit to the Park is a £1000 "Biodiversity Fund" and an undisclosed amount for an "Environmental Impact Fee" - looking at how it was spent this year (flower beds in the playground & Sexby garden) I suspect it would be a similarly small figure. The actual site hire fee - claimed as "commercially sensitive" and therefore undisclosed - is spent on: • Funding the council’s free events programme and Cultural Celebrations Fund • Subsidised fees for community events in the borough • Off-setting the running costs of the Events service, which supports the delivery of the free community events programme  Again, no details given, just vague concepts - can anyone name any of these free & subsidised community events? Or what the "Cultural Celebrations Fund" is or does? It doesn't really sound like any of it is worth  the disturbance, restrictions, noise, litter, environmental damage and negative impact on wildlife in our Park.
    • The organisers must have spent a fortune on the display..imagine how p**s*d off they must have been!!!! Blink and you missed it kind of thing
    • We also recommend Aaron.  Very reliable, reasonably priced and did a fantastic job on our hallway and bedroom ceiling.  A pleasure to work with and left the house very tidy at the end of the job.  Thank you
