davy watts
I have just been told that I can no longer listen to my radio at work unless my employer buys a licence that allows this. I'm absolutely gutted. I dunno how I'll get through the day without a radio on. bigbadwolf
We're strictly forbiden from listening to the radio at work because it interferes with all the radio traffic bouncing back and forth between our walkie talkies. You can just picture it...Me: "Call back site office."Site office: "Go ahead, over."Me: "Yeah I need the tower crane to lift a bobcat after lunch, over."Site office: "Recieved, I'll forward your request to the head engineer, over."Me: "I'd appreciate it if you could really emphasise the urgency. I've got a lot on my plate so need to get it over and done with, over."Site Office: "You'll have to wait in the queue along with everyone else, over."Chris Moyles: "Piss off yer fat bitch."Site office: "How dare you!!" giggirl
It's only a thought Davy but do you still need a licence if you listen to the radio through your PC? woofmarkthedog
Now is time to take the gramophone in Davy."We'll meet again don't know where don't know when..." played 25 times a day at least.Should kick the boss into buying a piffling license.W**F Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8307-banned-listening-to-a-radio-at-work/#findComment-256235 Share on other sites

EDKiwi
I noticed today they're playing ads on the radio at the moment telling students that if they watch TV on their laptops via the internet they still need a license and trying to convince them to pay for one. Seems a bit over the top to me, I guess they've closed the loop hole where it was only if you received a transmitted signal (not visa the internet) you had to cough up. I don't see how they would police it though, unless you get very big brotherish and monitor what everyone is up to on the internet. matthew123
I think if you turn it down so only you can hear it then it's no licence required - hence why pocket radio and earphones is fine - otherwise you'd be providing a service to customers in your shop which would require a licence.. Then it does not count as a 'broadcast' at your place of work and no licence required.
