The revised service seems to be running on time now, and the path up to ED platform has been cleared of snow, so well done Barry and team.

I appreciate that snow-clearing resources may be needed more urgently elsewhere, but if more bad weather is expected or would be good if the platform itself could be cleared while the snow is soft and comparatively easy to get rid of.

Was very pleasantly surprised to find everything moving this morning - I'm currently sat on a train whizzing up the East Coast mainline which is remarkably scenic with a dusting of snow. And so far (fingers crossed), we're bang on time!

I'm guessing that the overnight snow that I was expecting to cause problems fell earlier!

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
