actually you are not far wrong!!! When one has been married as long as I have...V-day is just another day. Having said that, I may well be going out on the piss in the evening with Monica, hubby and some others and anyone else who wants to tag along for a laugh!

Oh SteveT...how I have missed your cheekiness of late...relieved to see you remain on good form though. x

Well if it's any consolation giggirl I won't be single on Valentine's Day for the first time in years (well, not unless something goes horribly wrong between now and Sunday).

However my latest paramour doesn't believe in cards and chocolates, so I'll probably end up watching Antiques Roadshow on my own...

Oy! Rosie "I used to be single but I aint no more" H - go and find your own loved up thread. This is for those of us who are single and gloomy.

I may well also have a horrible tooth ache if Kings dont do the business tomorrow AND I discovered that one of my "I'm a single young woman and enjoying it" colleagues has been secretly loved up for the past 18 months. Splitter.

I may just open my veins. Briefly.

Alternatively, where are we meeting for this drink? I will need some anaesthetic in a number of ways.

Huh? But it seemed like such good value. What with that and the Danny Dyer box-set I've bought for "'er indoors" I thought I'd be a shoe-in.

It costs ?15 at Waitrose for the same combo....do you think that would do the trick? Money talks, right?

My friends and I plan to celebrate our singledom with a valentines day night of cheesiness - heart-shaped cakes, cheese fondue, celine dion on repeat, excessive wine. All that rubbish. Who says we can't be cheesy too? Go out and have a blast with your friends! Embrace it! :))http://www.postalgold.info/

    • Thanks for that. Maybe forthcoming elections have stymied the 7 day request? If Labour get back in, do we think GALA will try with greater success in 2027?
    • Better late than never, same obscure reason as previously for not going ahead with the extended plan... "Due to commercial reasons, the event organisers have withdrawn their application to hold a 7- day event over two weekends. The application has been revised to request the use of Peckham Rye Park to hold a 4-day event over one bank holiday weekend with the following schedule: • Onsite: Monday 11 May 2026 • GALA: Friday 22 – Sunday 24 May • On the Rye Festival: BH Monday 25 May • Off-site Sunday 31 May 2026 This is the same event programme that was delivered in 2025."  GALA 2026 consultation findings report 1519.pdf
    • Do great pizzas there at community cafe.. lots going on — was free parking but plans  to like everywhere get folk to pay.  Nice area… only discovered it a few years ago..
    • Oh ok, I've looked at it again and I agree I misread it.  You are right. I hadn't realised there were two separate parks. I just looked on a map. I have only been to the smaller one, with the pond.
