  1. Because you think I'm sexy.
  2. Well the groom is a keen cyclist (or used to be), and I like smoking, so between us it could work... Seriously, it always amazes me how much skunk you can smell on the street and on buses these days. I don't get why anyone would want to be out in manic London smoking. I want to be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeelaxing when I smoke, not out on a busy main road!
  3. I think the two are a bit different. Someone being killed as a punishment against their will Vs someone being helped to die because they want to, but can't do it alone.
  4. Perhaps you could ask the nice people at Aske's to open a Dulwich branch.
  5. I'm pretty unlikely now, unfortunately.
  6. Very well said.
  7. Fear N' Boozin Fear of boozin anywhere outside ED? I hear ya man!
  8. I've just thought of the Oxford Tube 24 hour coach service. ?16 return, nip up to Oxford, have it large, then coach back at whatever time of the morning we can't drink anymore... Only problem is sitting on a coach for 90 minutes very drunk and needing the loo.
  9. Seriously though, has noone ever had a good night out in London they can recommend? Doesn't have to have been a stag do.
  10. Well so would I obviously, but I suspect I might have trouble convincing the troupes. I have been on a couple of great stags, mine in particular. But yes, the stag do that we all seem to be expected to have, is shit.
  11. I disagree. I now find it hard to find good threads in The Lounge, yet find The Drawing Room too stuffy. I was very pro the drawing room idea, but to be honest, I liked it better before. Just my opinion.
  12. I think you're all talking nonsense. It happens at EVERY club!!!!! Yes there may have been some high profile ones, but isn't it surprising that Atila doesn't think Arsenal are that bad, Matt doesn't think the pool are as bad as Man U, Arsenal, or Chelsea, and Sandperson doesn't see that Man U are particularly bad. It is a (really really shit) part of the game today, it happens everywhere, so this debate is pointless!
  13. Nothing wrong with that, I went to school in SE14 I think. Builds character! ;-)
  14. It's funny, I have a gap from 1996-2001 when I lived in Liverpool, and did notice a big change when I came home. However, I'd say an even bigger change has happened since then. The EDT had just become "trendy", and was packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Then The Vale opened, and was very popular for a year or two as a later night venue (well 2am). But the likes of The Bishop, the Cherry, Green & Blue etc opening have really changed the place.
  15. Sounds good Sean! And I think we want to avoid a lot of the stag cliches, whilst still being slightly silly. The groom is a very bit fan of watersports (DON'T EVEN GO THERE BBW!!!!!), so falling off a small boat is not out of the question.
  16. Hard to disagree with, but I still disagree. Just can't reconcile myself with the taking of a life, whatever a person has done. Who is going to start this thread?
  17. Er, I think you may be missing the point of why we're stayiong local. Besides, Lithuania is much more fun! Anna, you'd definitely be able to out talk the lads on the beautiful game!
  18. Cars outside Dog Kennel Hill Sainsbury's?
  19. Agree Quids! Also agree with Brendan that BBW's post was a LOLer. And also agree with BBW, that we can all be snobs at times. I know I can, and I love it. I seem to be in an agreeing mood today.
  20. Right, a good friend is getting wed next Feb in South America, so obviously it's going to cost us all loads of money. As a result, we're forgetting about plans to go away for a boys weekend, and instead will just be doing an afternoon activity (could be anything), followed by a drinking session in London. Alternatively, we'll just start the drinking in the afternoon, and plough on through! (this would probably be my preferrence, but I suspect some of the other lads are a bit more sensible than me) Now, I've only ever done one London stag, and it was rubbish, planned by 2 guys, with a stupid schedule and map, which went out the window after the first bar! Has anyone got any suggestions as to a good boys day / night out? Note: Please don't suggest Paintballing followed by titty bars!
  21. This is the pont I was trying to make. Money doesn't lead to brains. Yes kids from poorer areas perform worse than their wealthier peers, but this is not because they are less able, it's because they are not encouraged in the same way. I'm not suggesting all schools should cover all kids, I can see the need for different schools covering different abilities, but the fact is, that should not be based on class. Problem is, if a middle class child only had the brains to go to the lower ability school, their parents would get their middle class elbows out, and make more of a fuss! God I hate talking in terms of "class" (simplistic outdated nonsense), but it's unavoidable on this thread.
  22. Having read your last couple of posts, I have probably got you wrong, but Still doesn't make sense to me. One kid who lives in ED, is going to be different to another kid who lives in ED, even if both of their parents are middle class.
  23. I just don't understand what you want Mick. The best for your kids is obvious, and understandable, but I don't get why you think there should be different schools for different classes. And what about the really clever kid living in a council estate, should s/he apply for a special place in your middle class school, or just go to the working class school? Sorry mate, but I am shocked at what you seem to be suggesting.
  24. I read it as people with more money need better schooling for this kids because they can afford to live in a "better" area. That is wrong, and I am not being PC in saying that (Quids). It's a very very Tory style elitist thing to say. Unless I've got it all wrong. Just for the record, middle class kids are not born more academic, or brighter. This sort of thing would just widen the gap.
  25. Well if you're right, which you probably are, the law bloody well should query anyone being "terminated", fecker or not! That however, is another thread altogether.
