  1. We're about to move, and having already paid ?160 for them to get referrences on both of us, we have now spotted this ?94 fee that they've sneaked in. When we questioned it, they said it was for processing the contract. Now I'm not being funny, but surely a landlord hires an agent to find them tenants, and they pay a fee for the service. I've never heard of anything like this before, am I just being naive? What with this, and the broadband trying to charge us to END their (really not great) service, I am just getting so so fed up with being bent over and raped up the ar$e by every thieving company that wants it's pound of flesh, in return for NOTHING as far as I can make out!
  2. You've been going to Antenna again haven't you! ;-)
  3. Gwynnie? Was the the bloke from Shakespeare in love?
  4. Probably 1x12, ideally would be able to take it on a train if required. As for money, as little as possible, have already spent lots on guitars and amps, and can't really justify a huge outlay at the moment, but my amp (well the cab) is a total pain to get around!
  5. This is my amp http://www.harmony-central.com/Events/MusikMesse98/Marshall/TSL100.jpg But I admit to using one of these http://www.haworthguitars.com.au/images/catalog/product.BOSS-GT6.large.jpg :-$ Infact, whilst we're on the subject, I have been looking for a more mobile amp for smaller gigs / gigs where I cant transport mine. Any recommendations for Marshall combo valve amps? Or non Marshal, but with plenty of dirt behind it...
  6. Well that's that sorted then :-S
  7. I was chatting to Mrs Keef about this last night, and admitted that if someone offered me a few grand bonus right now, there is absolutely no way I'd turn it down. I may think the system is a wrong, but at the end of the day, I have my own stuff to worry about. To try and put the individual on a guilt trip is just a pathetic nonsense. The system itself needs sorting, but expecting someone to "do the right thing" when they have been brought up in your capitalist machine is just clutching at straws!
  8. I'm not keen on the overdrive / distortion sounds, but they are a lot easier to take to gigs than 5 seperate pedals all with their own power supplies, and it's fun messing around with some of the unusual sounds like "flute synth". That said, I long to be back in a band where I can just use my amp footswitch and a wah wah!
  9. Anything with the voice of KIT from Knightrider would do it for me!
  10. It's because he's from Devon!!!!

    Man* Tasks

    1. Change a car tyre - Never driven, so never done it. Can't see it being that difficult though. 2. Wire a plug Easy 3. Put up a shelf (has to be straight and level, and support more than the dust it will accumulate!) - Hmmm, have done this years ago with my dad, but never tried on my own 4. Light and use a manual 'old school' BBQ (no gas allowed) - Easy, gas is for winmps! 5. Replace a faulty fuse and reset the fusebox - Have to do this all the time in our building, think whoever done the wireing was a bit rubbish! 6. Finish a curry hotter than a Madras (no fluids allowed) - I'll have to say no to this, but mega hot curries are just for macho tw@ts. 7. Erect a fence (that will withstand a decent stiff breeze) - No idea 8. Hitch up a caravan to a car then reverse it round a corner - Can't drive 9. Change a nappy - Will be learning this in the very near future! :-S 10. Set up an HD TV with Surround, DVD Player and Stereo out of the box - Yep 11. Fillet a fish - Never tried, I hate fish! 12. Pitch a 2-man tent - Yep 13. Repair a bicycle puncture - Never tried 14. Build a flatpack wardrobe (minus points for back-to-front doors, wonkiness, and surplus bits) - Never done a wardrobe, but am pretty good with flatpack stuff, so going to say yes. That gives me a girlie score of 6 definites, but if I add ones I'm pretty confident about, I'd go as far as 11, and being that I can't drive, I feel vindicated. I can fully restring a guitar pretty quickly if that helps? :-S
  12. Okay, fair point. He's arrogant enough to compare himself to some of the greatest artists ever, and has never backed it up. If tells me it would be really sad if I didn't hear his new album because it's just that good, so now I have to live my life in the knowledge there may just be something missing!
  13. I couldn't believe what was happening on Saturday, but surely that can't happen again... can it? :-S I like to think that we can go out and play now, and how ever bad we are, we'll feel there has been an improvement.
  14. I love that bit in Gavin and Stacey when they're trying to get to the birth and they're 50p short of the toll.

  16. My effects box is not cheap! very good point though.
  17. You love music theory? You are mad! After GCSE, A Level and Degree, I never want to see another scale, mode, or Bach choral in my life!
  18. To be honest, I thought I'd got a pretty good deal for what we're getting. In Dulwich it seems to be 11-1200 quid a month for a 2 bed flat, this is a 3 bed house.
  19. I've posted on EDF more than anyone else. Nuff said! Oh, and even though a can play real guitar, I still indulge in some serious air guitar when home alone :-S
  20. To be fair, it's very hard to come up with something TOTALLY new that sounds like nothing else. However, sometimes it's just blatant theft, and as I hate Chris Martin, I have decided that that's the case here.
  21. Have to agree with GG Sean, I'd not even read her post when I had decided to liken your post to the kid in school who draws the teacher's attention to the slightly naughty kid. Wherever it belongs, it's an interesting point I'd not really thought of before AFN. That said, I'm just about to move in to a 30s 3 bed house in Sydenham for a grand a month, which seems about 500 quid less than Dulwich, so can't complain.
  22. I disagree that chelsea have done the right thing, he's a quality manager and he needed the sort of backing that Jose got. And if they approach Grant, I hope he tells them to feck off!
  23. Is that the same Out of time that Chris Farlow did? If so, TUNE!
  24. I'd put it a bit further towards the Bishop, otherwise just too close to the Iceland crossing.

At which point Chris Martin said without The Verve there would have been no coldplay, which is just another strike against the verve as far as I'm concerned!
