  1. It actually reminded me of THIS.

Agree, and it doesn't really matter where the owners come from, it's more the buying a club as a toy, or purely as a money making tool that bugs me.
  3. Madworld 74, because she's always so cheerful! Oh and agree fully with Ted, both about his recent posts, but also with his points about this idea. Sorry.

    Petty Annoyances

Invitations to join stupid bloody causes on facebook. "Join now to stop child abuse" Yeah, because if we all say it's really bad on facebook, then it's bound to stop! Perlease!
  5. Blatter talks some sense for a change. And in other news Big Sam puts the boot in (but he's not bitter, honest).
  6. Agree about knives Sean, but the better the knife, the more likely it is to take off a carelessly placed digit.
  7. Fair enough if that's how you feel, very much doubt you're on your own. Only thing I'd pick up on would be that I'm pretty sure they were born and bred here too.
  8. I sliced my thumb really badly as a young kid stupidly trying to use a kitchen knife to open a particularly sticky wham bar (bright pink fizzy chew bar), so am mega careful with knives to this day. The lessons of youth huh. Let him play with the lighter, he'll soon learn! :-)
  9. I'm not above laughing at the plight of some teams, but always quite liked spurs.
  10. You know the pub well! ;-)

No it can't be, I'm sure it must be less than 20. I'm 30, and I'm sure it was there in to my teens. Well actually I'm not sure at all, but I'd be really surprised km find I was under 10.

  15. Wrote this on the other book thread Have just started the second adventure of Captain Alatriste "Purity of Blood" by Arturo Perez-Reverte having read the first one sometime last year. They're really nicely written books set in early 17th century Spain, and offer quite a bit of interesting history around the fictional story. Apparently the author (a war reporter) was disgusted by the lack of 17th century history in his daughter's school text books, he decided to write about the era. Having finished it, I definitely recommend both the Captain Alatriste books, they are really informative about the time in Spain, as well as being nice stories.

Now don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps all the lounging is not healthy, as it tends to mess up the counts, and you end up with 500 threads and tens of thousands of unread posts in the main section! *steps backwards slowly*
  17. Ha, touche :)) I like the Plough, would say it's probably my second favourite drinking establishment in the area.
  18. I guess they'd just run out of real ale. Not a reason to never go back to the place.

  20. Crap probably a bad work, but it just gets so much traffic, I think there should be a "for sale" / offered section seperate from the recommendations section. I admit I am slightly biased, as someone took it upon himself to recommend Bare Groove after we played his wedding, and it was a lovely write up, which was on page 3 by the end of that day! Anyway, I still think this particular thread doesn't belong there, it's not about something specific, it's a thread for people to say they've found something free and share it. So, unless it was sticky at the top of that section, it would just be lost and forgotten.
  21. To be fair, I'm with BB on the Green & Blue thing, it was over dramatic nonsense. Very different circumstances though.
  22. Er, yeah, the bus doesn't seem so bad now :-$
  23. I wouldn't have said so, it's not the same, and that section is crap, unless it's put at the top as a sticky.
  24. Liverpool may have benefitted from the red card, but it was a clear red, and he had to go. Nice to see the fighting spirit to come back, and especially good after Chelsea eased past Villa, which I thought would be a sterner test for them. Green had a shocking game, but hopefully that'll be a on off...
