  1. I fancy Arsenal tonight, but United will go on to yet another league title.

But of course, you wish him the best of luck, don't you.
  3. I am shocked that you booked in october! God, Oxford Street wasn't that mental when I were a lad!

I liked Matt a lot more in the early days, but I'm now at the stage where I genuinely don't mind who wins. I think they both genuinely have talent, and I'm glad the boy band didn't win just because lots me 12 year old girls think they're pretty!
  6. Amazon voucher.
  7. It's difficult to know exactly what is going on with the police. I don't think that overall they've been heavy handed, but equally, there was a guy on the radio this morning who'd been smacked in the head with a truncheon, and (according to the reporter), had blood streaming down his face. That isn't really on.
  8. Ha ha, I wasn't going to mention staff in any other shop, but glad you have >:D
  9. I basically agree with Jeremy's earlier post. I went to uni, and had a good laugh, and didn't really take it seriously. Now part of me thinks, if I did it, why shouldn't the next generation. However, unfortunately times have changed, and more and more students have been going to uni in the last 10 years. Problem is, if we are going to have less students going to uni, we need an attractive alternative. More proper apprenticeships perhaps, that will actually lead to a proper job with some prospects.
  10. Just wanted to start a thread to big up the girls working in JoJo Maman B?b?. I've only been in there 2 or 3 times, most recently yesterday, and each time I have found them to be really really nice, friendly, and helpful. Helping me select the correct sizes, holding the door for prams going in and out, and just making it seem like a nice shop to be in. Not overly impressed with the prices, but that is not their doing. Top marks to the girls! (tu)
  11. Cool, I'll check it out, although my 3 new games finally showed up yesterday, so I'll probably be busy for a while.

I agree that the violence has completely played in to the government's hands, allowing them to claim a moral highground.
  14. I agree it's a shit policy, but I agree with computedshorty that the thugs are doing the peaceful protesters absolutely no favours.
  15. I know this is friend of a friend stuff, so not necessarily reliable, but I've been told that he was absolutely hated by most people involved in Charlton.
  16. Was going to say exactly what Marmora Man just said. I'm sure there is a part of him that is tempted, but he'll know that he could risk his own legend.

I'm not saying people should be openly lied to, as in told an untruth. I am, however, saying that people don't need to know everything. Which I guess you could call a lie by omission, if you were being pedantic.

What Huguenot said, exactly what he said! Just to add, that the people on here calling for absolute transparency, seem to think that the public overall are intelligent. If that were the case, Rupert Murdoch would be skint.
  19. I was 2.5, so way too young. First big star's death that I really remember was Freddy Mercury, for which they put on a blinding tribute concert!
  20. Ha ha Alan.
  21. Only pulling your leg. Bet it shows a slightly different East Dulwich to the one seen in Mona Lisa (1986)!
  22. Bit like an Arsenal fan thinking they'll win the title before xmas, only to then get tired, and fizzle out later in the season ;-) Here's hoping the film does well.
  23. Fags enough paying pro rata to cover holidays, but paying for days they've closed, is taking the piss.

  25. Our daughter is 19 months, and hasn't been walking that long. She did a few steps, then seemed to decide crawling was preferable, and that was that for a good month or so. Then one day she just went for it, and once she had decided to go for it, there was no stopping her. I now miss her crawling, as I'm running around after her!
