How I wish I was still out drinking 6 nights a week. Both my body and my wallet have made that a thing of the past. I even tried watching the rugby in the Mag on Saturday, and it was so insanely noisy we had to leave and head back to the CPT which was busy but not uncomfortable. Brendan I don't remember there being a problem with the Grolsch, but I had had several drinks and at least a couple of shots before getting there, so may not have really been tasting it.

Ratty, absolute filth! Good work.

Moving to Fenwick Road - off East Dulwich Road
Keef replied to Jenni's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine, and you're just round the corner from The Gowlett which is a nice pub with a pool table and great pizza! I have to say I saw absolutely nothing at all in Louisa's post that I'd disagree with. The flats can be intimidating, simple as that. Depends if you're the type to be intimidated or not. -
Yeah they took over the old chip shop, but it's still a bit like a chippy that also sells Kebabs as opposed to a proper Kebab shop if that makes sense.

East Dulwich to Greenwich on Foot or Bicycle?
Keef replied to Jenni's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I would have suggested exactly the route Louisa did, don't think there would be much in it time wise. -
Typical Man U last gasp goal. Bastards. Pleased Everton dropped points, hopefully that'll be a regular thing.

I know the CPT is very dear to you, but it's a dump (to me) and I can't be arsed to walk through the door let alone try their 'crop'....but please don't yell at me again. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If that is how you feel, then fair enough, but you shouldn't then slag off their wine when you refuse to try the current crop, as actually you have no idea what you're slagging off do you. That's a bit like saying a film is rubbish when you've not seen it. Where in there have I yelled at you? The CPT is a dump or shabby to lots of people, that's fine by me, each to their own. I was simply making the point that you can't say they have crap wine when you haven't tried their wine, surely that's just common sense. It's a critisism based on nothing.

Cassius that post could basically have been written by me, spot on.

Wouldn't want to look like him Jah, but wouldn't mind the interest he gets from the ladies! For my part I have noticed hangovers in the last year. Was never am issue before.

Give him time, he's still very young, and I think he has it in him to be a great striker... He's a proper poacher which you don't see enough anymore.

That's what you get if you let Enya get involved. I love the last of the mohicans sound track! Gladiator was pretty good too, which made up for the film itself being a load of drivle. -

Yeah the Bent thing is odd, he has the quality, but hasn't yet shown it... That said, he hasn't really had a chance in the new improved team, and when he was getting on the pitch the whole team were pretty dire, so he wasn't really getting the service.

MadWorld74 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > add onto that list .... 'No drinkable wine of any sort' Out of interest when was the last time you tried? The work clothes thing was really stupid, they used to get a load of workmen in after work, especially on Fridays, and between about 5pm-8pm they'd drink a sh!t load of stella between them. That rule must have really damaged the takings. The current staff don't seem so bothered about it, the sign is still there, but I don't think they bother enforcing it at all. I don't know the reason it's not selling, there was one potential buyer who had pretty much sealed the deal (I know his girlfriend through a friend, and he was giving her a guided tour), but something obviously went wrong late in the day.

Good on ya Sue, nice to see someone getting off their bum and doing something rather than just moaning about the lack of something... Did that make any sense, I am still drunk from last night. Will come down soon and see for myself what the difference between folk and normal music is ;-)

Is there going to be any decent competition for the Hoopers Pub Quiz tonight?

Hmm, I shall have to come along with Piers some time and give it a go. -

As Jimmy Rabbit said in The Commitments, Jazz is musical w@nking ;-) Aaaanyway, hoopers quiz, what sort of questions do they ask, is it really that easy, or are there just not many people competing? -
???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The old foresters had a decent pool table and was fine.....I think the Old Palmerston was a dump What ???? said. As for The Palmerston, pub or not, it's crap.

I remember liking the score for Hand that rocks the cradle, some dodgy 90s thriller about a psycho nanny. -
MadWorld74 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Raise it to the ground........ > > .....or force it to have a re-fit and actually sell drinkable wine. The girls have tried getting some better wine in in an effort to improve things for odd people who drink wine in pubs. Like I said before though, it's all down to the owner at the end of the day, and she aint gonna do a thing.

That was wicked. Who was the horn player with he blonde hair who left a couple of years back? She was a very very good horn player, and frankly, after she left I thought it all went a bit pear shaped
