  1. You know it makes sense Anna!!! :)-D I've watched one match in The Vile, and it was fine to be honest, it's just the evenings I hate it, when rumpelstiltskin tries throwing his weight around! For that reason I just don't like giving them my money.

Yeah, and then they start sweating, and use up valuable water resources to re-hydrate themselves! Selfish gits!

God is it that long? My mum used to like the one down the Health Matters region of LL, can't remember exactly which shop it was. Think it was "Dave's Butchers" (???). It was one that went out of business when Sainsbury's opened... Oh how the tides change. Sorry if someone else had already said all this, but frankly I couldn't be arsed reading all this sh!t, it was putting me on a downer before my weekend! :-S
  4. Even without Firefox you can right click and "open in new window". Would be easier not to have to bother though.

    Great Gigs

The Gossip last night at Kenntish Town Forum. F**king wicked!!! It all started a bit badly, in that I was really tired, and didn't really feel up to it. We arrived to see a "bloke" on stage ding what I can only describe as talking sh!t along to a beat. He was wearing a red thong, and he had breasts. Very odd. The next "act" were a drummer and a singer. Good drummer, singer that needed shooting... At this stage I really wanted to go home! However, Gossip hit the stage, and opened with a new tune which is a brave thing to do! They're only a 3 piece with vocals, drums (very very good female drummer), and a bloke who switches between bass and guitar, but the sound is big enough to pull it off. Anyway, this new tune was drums and bass, and got everyone moving! Her vocals were awesome all night, and she is such a good performer, you can't help loving her. They finished their main set with "Standing in the way of control", which is probably their most popular song, and a real crowd pleaser! They then came back and did the most bizarre cover of George Micheal's "Careless Whisper", and then another song. To be honest, I think they'd reached their peak with "Standing in the way of control", and should have saved that for the encore. Anyway, that's my only critisism. They were great, it was very good to see and hear them in a small venue (having first been impressed by them at Reading), and I would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone! Big big thumbs up >:D<
  6. CPT is a pub, Cherry is a bar. There is a difference. Sun & Doves is a really nice place, but wouldn't be number 1 if it was in ED, because the CPT is number 1 and always will be :)-D
  7. Lampard is a good player, but him and Gerrard can't play together, and if you have to pick one, then Gerrard is clear winner. He drives forward, and will get back and fill his defensive duties, something that you will never see from Lampard! Also, despite his god record of scoring for Chelsea, Lampard seems incapable of getting a shot on target for England. In the world cup he had more shots than any other player, and couldn't get one goal. As for Heskey, I genuinel have been one of his few supporters. He's never going to score you a load of goals, and he's not the greatest player, but he's a work horse, he makes himself difficul to play against, and he is the bst foil for Owen. Rooney and Owen could end up as a great partnership, but Rooney would have to be willing to drop back in to a Beardsley / Sheringham role, and feed Owen. I'm not sure Rooney's huge ego would allow that.

  10. Here are the gentlemen, all taking a nice trip down the Thames. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1363/1361181441_5b6450d825.jpg All very sedate :-S See HERE and HERE for some pics. Oh, and if ever you find yourself on a boat with Fear N' Boozin, make sure he's drunk if he wants to drive, as he seems okay that way. Sober he'll hit every tree going!

Tickets for Led Zep being done by ballot, and cost ?125 each... I think not. If anyone is tempted, I saw Plant about 3 years ago, and he can still hold a note. Personally I never really liked them though.
  16. I think I've mentioned this before, but YOU'RE ALL WEIRD!!!!!
  17. Anna have a wicked time, and lets hope they put on a show for you! Ladygooner, Pompey 2 Liverpool 1...What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

In all seriousness, where is this place, as I've not noticed it (mainly because I tend to be leaving Sydenham to head to the CPT).
  19. LOL >:D
  20. I played the Clapham Grand a couple of times, but it's too big to be a small venue, and vice versa. We flogged loads of tickets, as did the other bands, but there was no way we'd get a couple of thousand in there, so it still seemed pretty empty. However, it's not really big enough to attract big names. Shame, as it is a good place. Something the size of the half moon, or the amersham arms would be a good start.
  21. Okay, so it's a smoking/gambling/cheesy disco/lap dancing/porn shop/shooting range/guitar studio/record shop/opium den... I want to live there!
  22. It is odd, I tend to think about lengths in metres, but height in fl & inches. We have pints of beer, but 2 lt bottles... We're just a crazy mixed up bunch of kids! :-S
  23. Great minds Alan.
  24. It makes a lot of sense to be universal. However, I like having a pint, and if it went metric, you'd probably get half a litre, thus losing that all important 68ml!!!
  25. Same here downsouth. I watched "The falling man" last year (it was repeated last week I think), and had a tear in my eye when I man whos wife had jumped/fallen/been blasted out, was saying that he took solace in the fact that if she jumped, at least it was the one choice she could make for herself, whilst everything around her was completely out of her control. He said "it must have been like she was flying". Any c**t who says those people will burn in hell because they took their own lives (as some redneck types did), can f**k off!
