  1. Before Aske's got all mixed up, it was a boys school and a girls school with mixed 6th form. they'd use each others facilities for various things, and join forces for things like music. worked really well. That's what could happen here...
  2. That is a good idea. I would like to point out though that no change would technically mean having the lamp post, as that's what's always been there, just not in it's full glory you could say ;-)
  3. And us boys are pleased you have such fond memories of our privates DM ;-) Err... :-S
  4. Exactly bloody right!
  5. Oh, and any boy that gets driven to school by his mum deserves to get a good beating when he gets through the school gates! ;-)
  6. Not much to say other than I'm for the school, and with the seemingly high number of young kids in the area right now, it will be needed in a few years!
  7. It's not THAT long ago that it was am active school, and the area seemed to survive that, I don't see the problem.
  8. I know that Pilates teacher through my work, and she is very cool! An old school ED girl too (tu)
  9. Drink drives me to drink... I have a soft drink, and think "No, that really hasn't done anything for me"... I then have a proper drink and it makes me happy, so I have more. Then I wake up feeling like death and struggle through a day at work... What makes this pain go away??? Drink!!! :)-D So, see you all at the next meeting then? :-S
  10. Hey hey, some of my best friends are chavs! ;-) And yep, the Red Hand Gang did indeed rock!

    You kinky thing you ;-)
  12. ChavWivaLawDegree since you've started posting on this forum you've spoken a load of sense, and I generally tend to agree with you (not least when it comes to Bill Hicks). One thing though... You say you hate class division, yet doesn't your name encourage it? I think working class warriors can be just as snobby about class as Middle class toffs... Seriously I'm not trying to argue with you here, and I'm not calling you a working class warrior, your post a while back just made me think.

At least if "it's raining men" the gay field will be interesting ;-) Hope you all have a fab time! Oooo yeah I wish it would rain now..... Down on me..... Oooo yeah I wish it was raining down on me now!!!! >:D<
  14. Just a nice Narnia style lamp post! I think there's something really special about them! (tu) http://www.beliefnet.com/imgs/narnia/lamppost.jpg >:D<

Yeah, but then they would have direct competition... At the station, they'd be the only option. Think of all the people wanting a coffee on the way to work in the morning! Personally I hate coffee, and don't like drinking anything from a cardboard cup, so I won't be visiting ;-)
  16. I "played out" from quite a young age, and that was with a mother who felt sure I'd be run over because of my eyes). Kids used to play out in big groups, and would "knock for" each other, so I guess had safety in numbers. With regards to Dulwich Park, I only really remember playing there whilst my mum was there, but that was at a very young age. Kids who are allowed a bit more freedom don't want to waste it in a kiddies playground, that's just for babies ;-) I used to love Dulwich Woods, and Piers, it was perfect for playing war and abseiling down the hill using vines. It's also an amazing place to let the imagination run wild, because there's so much interesting stuff there! But, I can see why parents are so over protective (and in my opinion it is OVER)... At the end of the day, you may know you're being over protective, and you may know the chances of something terrible happening are miniscule... That wouldn't make you sleep better if something did though! That said, I hope I can let my kids run wild a bit.... So long as it's in a beer garden, and they're annoying some other poor drinker! :)-D

James, if someone ever says "well I hope you're never homeless" to you again, just smile and tell them you won't because you're careful with your money, and don't waste it on charity ;-) Seriously, I'm happy to give money to a volunteer collector. I've collected a couple of times, and my mum does it sometimes. However, when someone blocks my path to hassle me, I feel justified in walking straight through them, even if it means barging the annoying sh!t out the way! Another reason I avoid these people is that the charities that can afford to hire fund raisers are the charities that make a lot of money anyway. Now I'm not saying they don't do great work, but I'd rather give my money to the smaller charities that need it a lot more.
  19. The Starbucks at Sainsbury's doesn't get the passing trade from the station, it just gets Sainsbury's customers. The people using Sainsbury's will then get in their cars and drive straight past the one by the station as well as all the other shops, so in theory they'd have a completely different client group, and could both be sustainable.... That said, I know sweet FA about business ventures, so I'm probably just talking sh!te :-S
  20. Theres always a handy office junior to blame! ;-)
  21. Blue Brick Cafe is great! (tu)
  22. In all seriousness, I remember doing a WWII project whilst at primary school, and going to see a couple of bomb shelters in people's gardens. One was the house next to the police building on CPR, more or less opposite the Uplands. Can't think where the others were though....
  23. I'm willing to bet money it's BatDog! >:D
  24. It's a very fair point regarding consistency and Boro. However, there is still no guideline regarding punishments... In a court of law, a particular crime will carry a minimum and maximum punishment. The Judge then decides what s/he feels is appropriate in that case. The lack of these guidelines effectively means that the league can do what they want, and however unfair it may be, no one can really argue against them, because they can just say so what.
  25. Actually Sean, I'm pretty sure Lambeth did ban Christmas lights a couple of years back for just that reason (well not just Muslims, but non christians). I have a colleague who I'm pretty sure actually reads the Mail, and PC gone mad is one of his favourite subjects... He is really funny though, so I don't mind too much >:D< RE The villages... I was in a pub in Winchelsea (near Rye) a couple of weeks back, and the locals at the bar were discussing the introduction of recycling in the area. They were not happy about it I can tell you!
