Louisiana, are you just joking about the judo? Seriously, Mrs Keef and I were looking for a class, but couldn't find anything anywhere near us!
-
CitizenED, I went to a party in that house/garden about 3 years back, and yes, isn't that tower cool! Can't tell you much about the house other than it's divided in to flats (And very nice ones at that). I actually hated the tw@t who's party it was, so didn't visit often! If was evicted not long after anyway :))

I used to go to that school on Northcross, it was the original St John's & St Clement's. I'd love a nose around, especially in the old bit on Northcross, which was my infant class. Anyway, what do people think of the new flats (?) being built on the corner of Underhill and (I think) Overhill? I can't make my mind up :-S

I sort of have to agree there, I don't find him all that funny, his jokes are just obvious.

Cheers Sean, that's the guy I was thinking of. Not a regular on 8 out of 10 cats apparently, but he seems to be on it every time I see it!
-
Was guitar gently weeps a Beatles song, a George Harrison song, or a Beatles song written by George Harrison? Or none of the above :-S Sean, good call with Ride On, I love the guitar in that song!
-
Seriously, who is Alan Carr?!?!?!?!? What shows does he do? I'm rubbish with names.

Not really Jah Lush, I put in a Leonard Cohen, a Pink Floyd, and a Squeeze lyric.... However, you've just reminded me that Wild Horses by the Stones is one of my fave all time songs, and the lyrics to that are beautiful! Childhood living is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady you know who I am You know I cant let you slide through my hands I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you decided to show me the same No sweeping exits or offstage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie I have my freedom but I dont have much time Faith has been broken, tears must be cried Lets do some living after we die Never been a Dylan fan.... Over rated hippy fool *runs for cover* >:D<;-) Bugpuss... Whatever!!! ;-)
-
This is all good, but I suspect people are missing the point of the TOP 10 ;-) Sean, the words are absolutely beautiful, I love Buckley's version just for his voice! >:D<
-
Yeah, but is she fit???? >:D< Sorry :-$
-
*Mmmm Fallon......* *Gives everyone friendly wave and pours a large JD* *Thinks to self "looking forward to playing some geeeeeetar tonight* B) *Tells Chartwell that reliable source suggests Ms Pitstop won't be around til later on* ;-)

But still, make them all stand in the centre of The Oval, and be roundly booed for a couple of hours!!! They deserve that at least!
-
Sorry if anyone's already suggested this and it's not possible.... Any chance of a spell check, so I don't have to cut & paste in to word when I want to look clever??? Come on, you all know you do it! ;-)

Right, there are actually 11 here, and there are probably loads more that I didn't think of..... :-S In no particular order...... Counting Crows ? Round Here (Couldn?t choose between these two) She parks her car outside of my house Takes her clothes off Says she?s close to understanding Jesus She knows she?s more than just a little misunderstood She has trouble acting normal when she?s nervous But the girl on car in the parking lot says man you should try to take a shot Cant you see my walls are crumbling? Then she looks up at the building and says she?s thinking of jumping She says she?s tired of life she must be tired of something Pink Floyd ? Wish you were here. (Love every word of this song, but my favorite line is?) And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? New Pornographers ? The Bleeding Heart Show We hunched together in one chair out on the deck In snow that froze and fell down on the modern set It looked as if I picked your name out of a hat Next thing you know you are asleep in someone's lap Jet ? Look what you?ve done Give me back my point of view 'Cause I just can't think for you I can hardly hear you say What should I do, well you choose AFI ? The Leaving Song Walked away, heard them say "Poison hearts will never change," walk away again. Turned away in disgrace, felt the chill upon my face cooling from within. Jeff Buckley ? Hallelujah (Pure poetry this song, by Leonard Cohen if memory serves me correctly) There was a time when you let me know, what?s really going on below. But now you never show that to me do ya? Remember when I moved In you, the holy ghost was moving too, And every breath we drew was hallelujah Crash Test Dummies ? God shuffled his feet (always made me laugh) The people sipped their wine. And what with God there they asked him questions. Like ?do you have to eat, or get your hair cut in heaven?? And if your eye got poked out in this life, Would it be waiting up in heaven with your wife? Squeeze ? Up the junction (A sad end to such a promising start *sob*) The devil came and took me from bar to street to bookie. No more nights by the telly, no more nights nappies smelling?. The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl ? Fairytale of New York (Shane) I could have been someone (Kirsty ? In heart breaking voice) Well so could anyone! You took my dreams from me, when I first found you. (Shane) I kept them with me babe. I put them with my own. Can?t make it all alone, I built my dreams around you! Chris Franklin ? Bloke (To the tune of B!tch by Meredith Brooks) Or take me as I am, This may mean you?ll have to fetch another can?. Rest assured if I start to make you breakfast, I?m going to extremes. But tomorrow I?ll get sh!t faced, and today won?t mean a thing! The Offspring ? She?s got issues And I know she?ll feel abandoned if I don?t stay over late. I know that she's afraid to commit, but it?s only our second date! You told me a hundred times how your father left and he?s gone?. But I wish you wouldn?t call me daddy when we?re getting it on! >:D<

No one going for the concrete house then? ;-)

Before all this forum lark kicked off, myself, Mockney Piers, and CrystalClear used to waste away our working days by doing top tens.... One day it would be albums, another day song lyrics, and another day 80's hair cuts... Whatever one of us could think of in the morning..... This could be a fun thing to start doing on the forum... I'll kick off with Top 10 song lyrics (not that creative, but it'll get us started). Compile yours, and post it here. Then each day, anyone can suggest a new top 10.... Lets see how we go, we used to spend ages thinking about these before this forum took over our working lives ;-)

I'll try man, I'll try.....

I'm losing the will to live!
-
Cool, this is the first one of his I've read, but Mrs Keef has a few in the huge book collection, so I'll work through them :))
-
Know what you mean, I'm a bit younger than the characters, but not a lot. When I was watching the repeats in the run up to christmas I did feel a bit of a sad nostalgia for bygone days.

Polly is.

Fair enough Chuff. I know the place hasn't had the best rep over the years, and one of the guys who threw himself off was a friend of my dad's called Malcolm, I guess it was very late 80's... Can't really remember very well. Anyway, I do know what you're saying, I just think it looks nice when all the lights are on at night that's all. Plus I don't like the attitude (not yours) that any crime in the area must be down to the people living in places like that.
-
It's a joke isn't it. I hope they get booed at the airport when they get home. They away on holiday playing cricket so much they forget that people here are actually caring about their results! Flintoff was a one tournament hero, and that's it.

I was up at Horniman's with Mrs Keef on Sunday, and told her about this very conversation. Her opinion was that whilst it's not the prettiest place in the world, it's a very very interesting feature. She also commented that the middle classes don't like to see council housing, and world rather it be hidden away, which is probably why so many people from Dulwich found it so offensive. Wise lady my other half ;-)
