I'd ignore that "NO" this and "No" that board out the front, it was put there a few years ago, when they were really trying to be something that they're not. The current guys running it are an ace bunch, I can't speak for them, but I suspect they'd be cool with people eating outside in the summer, as long as the mess was tidied.... Might have a chat to them about it, as it would be good for them to know what the public say, as they're trying to do their best in a pub who's owner obviously doesn't care too much about it because it hasn't turned out to be the trendy pub she'd dreamed of.... Serves her right for buying a back street boozer if you ask me! But the staff there are the friendliest bunch you'll meet in ED!!!

Oh, you learn something new every day :)) Now I think of it, I have no idea why I thought it was scram, as I've never said that in my life :-S Anyway, back to the point Sean, I know what you mean it would be nice to get some food in the CPT, but there's no where for them to put a kitchen really..... Speaking of which, anyone been to The Alleyns Head for a meal recently? I used to really like the food in there, but haven't been for a couple of years.....

To be fair, ther Market Porter can't win it every year... The Clockhouse used to regularly win best pub prizes... Not too sure the CPT has had one in the last 20-30 years, but I like it anyway ;-)

I'm sure you're right, I was just having a bit of a cheeky joke ;-) My sister and I used to go to The Foresters and play pool back when we were (late) teenagers, and it was always quite nice then, but in it's last few years it was bloody awful!

With regards The Bishop, it was The Foresters once, and certain people still use it... This is why the bouncers are needed ;-) I don't like the place myself, the beer is always flat when I go there (td)

Why The Florence, that's not in keeping with the Chess theme, surely The Knight!?!?!? Piers, St Germaine?s closed a while back, and my sister was telling me it's been bought, and done up nicely recently... Not sure if it's opening, or already open. I suspect it will no longer be an Irish pub, in fact, I think she might have said it was the same people that ruined the Dartmouth Arms in Forest Hill, and The Dolphin in Sydenham, in which case, it'll be another soulless place like a Starbucks that sells booze... (That's Mrs Keef's analogy, but I liked it).

Quite right, I'd much rather have a Diavolo (or however you spell it) from Pizza Express than some of the pizzas I've tried from little independent places!
