  1. When you phone for a take away, and it comes with a menu in the bag.
  2. On more than one occasion I've searched high and low for the glasses that are on my face.

    Pen Knives

I always have a penknife on me. Remember a policeman coming to our school and telling us that an old lady carrying salt in her bag, to throw in an attacker's eyes, could get done for carrying a weapon. No idea if that is true, but it stuck in my head.

    Bald

I'm not going bald, I just can't have long hair anymore.

    The TV Debate

I thought Brown sounded the most intellectually able of the 3 of them, Clegg was pretty good, and Cameron was pleasingly rubbish. I don't really like Clegg, but I think I shall vote Lib Dem. I believe that this time, that vote will do something. Question time on BBC2 afterwards was awful, especially the word chart bit!
  7. Sorry, me being paranoid. I guess you could argue that putting any photos on facebook is asking for attention. There is just something about the scans that bugs me. Just feel it is more a private thing, that you show people when you see them. Anyway, doesn't really matter.
  8. Touche, and ouch. But yes, I think so. Sophiesofa is correct about the weirdness of baby profiles though.

    The TV Debate

I'll watch just out of interest. You never know, perhaps it will make me think differently, and it''ll be funny watching Mrs Keef's passionate hatred of DC.

    Quoting Posts

This reminds me of a friend of mine who used to use this forum in the early days. His spelling is shite, as he'll be the first to admit, but one day, another poster, who my friend had disagreed with, rather than arguing a point with my friend, basically said "you can't even spell, so what the f**k do you know about anything". Made my blood boil, and made my friend stop using the forum altogether. For the record, the other person involved is no longe a regular poster (not sure they ever were).
  11. In general, I think ?1000 is a small price to pay. Your property ends at the public footpath, so yes, you should have to pay, to have a drop kerb put in, which more or less extends your property to the road, and stops anyone else from parking there. Definitely not a "right".
  12. PGC, "Paradise by the dashboard light" is a great song, and an absolute classic on the karaoke circuit in Liverpool! And now I'm preying for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive. Cos if I've gotta spend another minute with you, I don't think that I could really survive. Class!

    Quoting Posts

For my part, I can't stand people quoting an entire post, just to add a two word reply at the bottom. With regards quoting a section of someone's post, I don't see the problem, so long as you're not intentionally putting it out of context. If a poster has written a 2000 word post, and then there are five posts following it, I will often quote a section of their post in order to avoid confusion as to what part of a discussion I am addressing. Don't really see how anyone can lose sleep over such a practice. I agree that to take every point made, and answer them individually, is a bit pathetic, and self involved. However, I see no problem with addressing a couple of points seperately, if you feel strongly enough about a couple of points to bother.
  14. Know I'm probably in the minority with this (I seem to be anyway), BUT... People who put baby scan photos on Facebook, just so they can get a million congrats from people they've not seen for 15 years. Attention seeking, and also counting one's chickens a bit IMO. As for making it your profile photo, give me a fecking break!!!!

    Ask Admin

I'd be interested in this. Have no idea who the person is, but when I asked if it was possible to close an account and have all your posts removed, I was told no. Is it possible to remove someone altogether (not in real life obviously, as that would be a bit hardcore).
  16. I like the ZingZilla's too.
  17. I quite like the one with the birds living in the tree. It's quite musical. Can't remember wat it's called. Night Garden is doing my fecking head in!!!!!
  18. Mark, until reading your post, I sort of thought, well if I can't be bothered to sell something on ebay, and someone else wants to make a few quid from it, then good for them (assuming it was a one off thing). HOWEVER, I had no idea there were people who were repeat offenders, and that is well out of order! And selling it on the same forum they got it from is just plain wrong!
  19. Quite. Narnia, I dipped my toe in to this section a while ago, and these are very different waters from those that you're used to!!! They're a good bunch though. I think Woof's post summed it all up pretty well.
  20. Have to agree. I read this this morning, and thought "hmmm, interesting, but have nothing to say on the subject", so I didn't.
  21. According to I love marmite Personally, I think you're all weird. The smell makes me gag when I have to ake marmite on toast for Mrs Keef. That said, I'll look in the little Tesco near us on Kirkdale, and report back. It's a rubbish Tesco though, so don't hold your breath.
  22. I was talking about the CPT, which isn't Youngs. That said, I don't much like real ale, with the odd exception. Warm, flat, rubbish.
  23. It was probably the juice that cost a fiver. Saying that, Staropramen is edging towards ?4 in a lot of the local pubs.
