There is one in Forest Hill, just past Sainsburys.

Our 11 month old has had it a week. Think she may have gone a day without being sick today, but still not herself. Lot of fluids was all we were told. Interested to hear about the dairy, noone told us that.

Super post, bravo.

The Plough usually have an acoustic act on (although not been for ages, so can'ty promise). The Hob in Forest Hill have music acts, but I'm not sure if there is an entry fee on Saturdays.

I used to feel really sorry for him, and think that he was actually the right man for the job, just left in a mess by Blair. I still think he was left in a mess by Blair, but basically, I have lost faith in him. He is arrogant, and seems oblivious to what people want. However, when George Osborne tries to put himself across as the voice of the masses, I can't help but laugh. I don't think he or DC would have the first clue what the masses think or feel.

Perhaps you're right. I often hear people say the main thing for them is the social side, so I thought "They are a middle-class parents dating service" was quite funny. It must be difficult for Sillywoman, being an intructor, you don't want to see negative comments, but I don't think there is a need to be wounded by Lousylu's post. You can't please everyone, and there are obviously a load of satisfied customers in the Dulwich area!

*Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- The Three Chancellors debate.. George Osborne. Good god. On a superficial level (remembering that superficiality accounts for a good third of crosses in boxes when it comes to the GE) he was every inch the oily, dead-fish-eyed, insincere caricature that the Tories are desperate not to be seen as. As regards the position he wants to apply for: he came across as an examination 'crammer' trying to recall his four sheets of A4 (with highlighted sections) rather than someone who even seems interested in the job, let alone knowledgeable on the subject. Spot on! Thought Vince Gable sounded like the one who knew what he was talking about, but he lost points for me, by his little swipes at the other two. I thought Alistair Darling came across best to be honest.

Wanted Baby Bjorn babysitter or similar
Keef replied to canadianlisa's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I mentioned this on another thread, and not sure how old your baby is, but we bought a Little Helper Fun pod / highchair (you can get them cheaper that on this site if you look). They're good because you have a chair that can be used alone, or you can put it in the frame to use as a high chair, or you can stand them in the frame when they're bigger, so they can "help" in the kitchen and stuff. We thought it was worth the price, being that it'll last a good while. -
Oh come on people, Lousylu wasn't exactly being offensive, I thought the post was quite funny (maybe a bit cheeky), and quite an honest response, which highlights what a lot of people think! There seems to be a real problem in The Family Room, whereby if someone disagrees with the majority, it's not accepted. You found the NCT classes great. That is great. Other people find it all a bit twee and middle class / exclusive / over priced / nothing special, they are just as entitled to those opinions. No one has said the NCT is bad / rubbish, so no need to get so defensive.

Where to place the old kiss? :-$

People are living a lot longer, 60 used to be old. My dad is 70 this year, and I still don't think he seems old, as my job involves seeing lots of people in their 80s & 90s, a lot of whom are still quite active. As a result of all this, the whole middle age thing is a bit confusing. I'm about the same age as you, and I don't think I'd call myself "young" anymore, but I certainly don't see myself as middle aged, as I don't think that really kicks in til you're about 50.

Chislehurst Caves "Schools & Groups Groups booking in advance can have their own private tour at a preferential rate. Ideal for School visits (the weather is no problem when you are underground), the Caves cover many aspects of the National Curriculum and special World War 2 tours are also available. Pre-booking is essential and minimum charges apply."

Chislehurst caves is well worth a visit, there was a whole community living in there.

Did anyone hear George Osborne talking absolute nonsense today? Making a lot of promises that unfortunately, may win them votes, but are not even remotely realistic! Ask the chancellors is on Channel 4 tonight at 8. Should be interesting.

Good one Dom. In all seriousness, a bloke from Labour knocked on our door the other night, and was telling us that the site of the Greyhound on Sydenham Road, has finally been sorted, and they're going to have a smaller pub, several flats, and some shops, and he said that Waitrose had been interested. I suspect it won't come to anything, but I did joke to him and Mrs Keef that I'd fecking love it if Sydenham got a Waitrose before Dulwich!

The Glass work is all listed. I personally like the old 2 seperate bars thing. Means you can watch the footy, or you can go next door to chat to your mate. I also love the fact I can still sit at the bar on a stool. I love that, and you don't see it so much now.

When I was a kid, we did a WW2 Project, and we went to a house on Crystal Palace Road (more or less opposite the Uplands, next to the Police building on the corner of Uplands), which had a WW2 bomb shelter at the back of the garden. Might be worth knocking on a couple of doors to see if the person living there would let you bring a bunch of kids through their house. I remember it being a lovely old man, but this was some 20 years ago, so he may not still be with us, and the shelter could have been removed. Worth a try though.

C-section recovery & Kings labour wards
Keef replied to Countjc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm quite surprised to hear this, as I thought it was rather nice when I had to stay a night there, and I was seen by the most beautiful doctor I'd ever seen!!! That said, I had just fractured my skull, and had blood running down my face, so I may not have been seeing things clearly! And it was about 12 years ago to be fair. -
Are you Ringo Starr?

Missing Hospital on East Dulwich Grove.
Keef replied to m7post's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have to say, I tend to agree with Matthew. I was born in Dulwich Hospital, so would hate to see it go altogether, and there are some very good services run out of it, not least Seldoc! However, I don't think there is a need for a new hospital to be built, when we have one of the best hospitals in the country a 10 minute drive away. Perhaps they could build a maternity unit, they'd get a lot of business in the ED area! -
Ha ha, I like that. I pretty much agree with your whole post too.
