A huuuge topic and I will gather thoughts for a soloquy that will only interest me, but in the meantime... The rest of Europe does have issues, they offer differ in texture but don't think somehow were the only sceptical nation by any stretch. Extremism is on the rise in the margins everywhere and it's a wider malaise with political engagement, I don't think Europe is central to it at all. Yes I think by and large the european project is something imposed by political elites on the masses, but fuck me, what isn't. Like Brendan I respect britons' right to choose and if you leave so do I, I'm happier as a citizen of Europe than I am blighty regardless of how much I love this place. Oh yeah, and homogenous america, ho ho ho.

Glad that's clear then. So to bottom out this whole debate, noone knows whether or not there is a god. Some peple believe and some don't and rarely does the twain meet. Organised religion is genrally bad except when it's good. The universe is big. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.

". I do however feel that he is a very stubborn man, and will cut off his nose to spite his face at times." you've just described your archetypical Spanish male there, so no shock really. Loving the lady, is that ms perry or does everyone look the same these days? Quids, sorry if the game the other night gave you your cold, but you realise you now have no choice but to go to every home game, and don't be washing those lucky pants neither.

"In short there is plenty of porridge & muesli on here, but we all enjoy the odd fry up now & then don't we ? " frankly brilliant there woof. Totally agree, though wolfie tended to shove slugs and bird droppings in lieu of black pudding and mushrooms. TLS was more liking breaking your fast with the manuscript for Shoenbergs's violin concerto. You know that somewhere in there there might be some sense and in a higher plane it amy even be clever and sophisticated, but ultimately it just makes your head hurt and I'd much rather have some bach or britney. -

Sega rally or test drive surely. Canned peach. -
I don't believe in The Chair. He's just a facile comfort blanket, an abnegation of our personal moral responsibilty not to offtopicate.

"Anyway, so is there a god or not?" yes, err I mean no. What shall we talk about next then George? Politics what are your politics? Middle of the road.... Ho ho ho, middle of the road!!

Since the George shut it's now my local

I'm glad of your caveat there silverfox, anyone who takes offence really needs a thicker skin. Plus it isn't offensive at all anyway, it's a debating position.
-
Huguenot's even made me see red and get steam out of my ears and I love the chap dearly. I can't see how his above statement is either offensive or cliquey. He's setting his stallmout about what purpose a deity given that he doesn't believe on its existence. Don't see the problem there.

That's just because you smell of puke and poo now keef isnt it ;) anyway thanks muchos for the kind words. It's a bit annoying because it was only one bad mark, everything else went perfectly, all the things my instrctor normally smacks me for doing (forgetting about mirrors and things, the usual). Oh well, have another crack in a couple of weeks, I appreciate what you're saying legal, but there's only so much baby stuff I can get on my bike ;) -

Was it on this forum or the wdf Declan. If it really was an innocuous post ten it could just have been my fat thumbs, it wouldn't be the first time. Let me know which thread and I can reinstate it if there's no problem with it. -

I hate to go over this old ground keef, but a mould, a clique? I dont really feel like I belong here anymore, which is a little sad for both of us having been here pretty much since day 1, but I don't feel I've been excluded by a clique, just that there are more people thani can keep up with, I made the effort to get to know lots of people and I haven the time nor energy to keep at it. Other people have found each other and struck up a rapport and good luck to them. But i wouldn't call it cliquiness. As for a 'mould', if you mean organophobe, queue loathing curtain twitchers then I guess I'm probably with you on that one. Anyway see you at the pub in a couple of hours, I've always got time and effort for that. Oh and I failed my driving test today :( -
when religion is wilfully nasty and murderousthere isn't much of a square to be circled is there.

"So Ollie to win. And if Ollie goes out, I'll be rooting for Jedward." That pretty much sums up the mockney household too. I actually quite like Jamie, but Louie (sp?) has a point about him being a good karaoke artist, though gawd knows what he thinks he's achieving by that as the whole show is nothing but karaoke meets reality tv. Big band week was great because it fits the bill perfectly, rock doesn't lend itself to rent-a-mariah-lets-bang-out-the-big-note format at all, which is why it was dire. I'm looking forward to jazz week and all the Cleo Laine covers...magic!!!

I'll try again Well, quite Jeremy. If you don't believe in God then it's not even a question at all. I was just wondering how those that do [believe in a loving god or any sort of theoretical gold mark black mark points system, (I'll ignore devil worshippers or thuggee types)] square the circle. hmm, probably not much clearer, just ignore the bits in [].

Not really if I'm going to be frank. Wolfie could be both amusing and erudite but frankly that side of him was outweighed by his crass, rude, obnoxious posts, I don't think anyone has had more posts reported than him. Between them they managed to subvert every bloody thread and it got to the point where alot of regular posters and lurkers just stopped taking an interest. Nobody wants censorship, but the other side of the rights coin is responsibilty. I think the place is much better without them.
