  1. "Quote: HAL just don't turn up at a Pink Drinks by mistake. I would class that as mild homophobia, although not from you I hastened to add, I've only quoted your post to give context as it was what HAL was responding to." Have to agree, totally did a double take at that. "whyever not, they're a good bunch" thought I. But long past drumming any sense into this place. One solitary trip intonthe main section to see the usual puddles of bile on display was enough for me. Anyhoo I shall hope to be at one or both, mistletoe free but dressed with a smile and a warm heart on my sleeve, fear not.
  2. will check with diary, but sounds more than likely. See you all again.
  3. Feel your pain quids!
  4. Well that's typical of a south African. I can't express how often I've had to avoid yet another saffa bumping my ankles with their oh so wonderful furry feet and diminutive stature, nose (3 ft) up in the air looking down on us all from down there. You used to know where you stood in this place. Good old fashioned values, the Irish with their pointy ears and hand crafts bows mixed beautifully wih the jamiacans with their roots deep in the earth and their regenerative draft, which you could get for tuppence in the working class non-organic magic potion shop, before it was AbraStardabra. But the saffers and the mumsies with their slavering teeth and sunken dugs, god they get my goat, and sometimes kill it right there on the spot as I'm trying to get from A to B, me you understand, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW IMPORTANT I AM? Seriously though, mean spirited cunts, many of you should be ashamed. I thought this couldn't annoy me either, like a bruise you rub continuously, but there you go again, trolls, worst of the lot.
  5. I tend to use a dedicated site like flickr for the file storage as it eases the load on the forum and saves them money in the long run, but no big deal ifthe pics are ickle like.
  6. While this is significant it's hardly suprising and more or less inevitable result of globalisation following the end of the bipolar cold war and American hegemony, ironically sped up by the enourmously costly endeavours of te Bush administration aimed at maintaining it. But its not that significant. I like Fisk because he's a total nutter and winds people up the wrong way, but you always have to factor his agenda and enormous ego when Reading anything he writes. What does crack me up is the nutters his stories inevitably attract in the comments. It actually negates he need for the Private Eye 'From the Message Boards' as they couldnt hope to parody this. Depressingly awful comic genius. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/the-demise-of-the-dollar-1798175.html
  7. Fair comment BB and perhaps unfair though this one was internationally reknowned and respected (I roomied up with Blair's biographer). I was there for a few days to lend moral support to a friend doing some pretty intensive advanced yogic teacher instruction. Let's just leave it at it most certainly wasn't for me.
  8. Likewise GG, done quite a bit of hiking in the uk and in places like Italy, Spain and south America. It's like walking but hillier, and yes get yourself some nice boots, gortex to keep your tootsies dry and be prepared to spend a little extra and save yourself all those horrid blisters (never had a single one in my current boots though they've just died) I'd recommend just hiring a nice cottage in te middle of nowhere where the recepiin won't work on your phone and just enjoy yourself. If you ping me there's a lovely one in the brecons a few miles away from Myddfai I'll happily recommend. I've been in an ashram in Canada believe it or not. Horrible things full of damaged people looking for something, and which I guarantee you they won't find from some awful 'guru' preaching total subservience and driving around in a roller. Happy walking, or hiking or clapping with one hand or whatever.
  9. As a little stocking filler you could give yourself this tower defence game. It's very well balanced, good looking and rather addictive. Not bad for about 7 quid. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/defensegridtheawakening
  10. I think we all know who that is. Is it too late in the year to combine it with a barby?
  11. * scribbles names in notepad, great no excuses next change *
  12. I like footie games in theory, but the mechanics end up irritating me so much I quickly end up ritually burning them. Guitar hero et al are great however.
  13. Oh yes. Right Fopp trip is a must for that and Fiery Furnaces latest.
  14. Forza 3 looks like a must have. Try the demo. Although I'll be very annoyed by my colleages who are posting seemingly unachievably good times. Gits.
  15. I can't believe I've even watched this but watch it I have. Can I put in a formal request that everybody STOP FUCKING CRYING All the FUCKING TIME. Blimey, a bit of stiff upper lip anyone, anyone? Some of you are grown men for goodness sake, it's not like your mum died or something.
  16. Indeed. Such a pity about Ashton, he exuded class and strength but looks like it's game over full stop for the lad. We need a real play maker, someone who can exploit the gaps that Carlton is creating. I'm glad to see his game has come on, he terrifies defences with his strength and movement but his goal scoring instincts are still off and he needs to be partnered up rather than isolated.
  17. My initial thoughts exactly quids. Luckily looks like MM is bigger than that. Didn't find out until last night that we scraped a draw. Had had a quick glance at the wedding I was at (much gutting nearby) and the beeb had posted up 1-2 R, so was unneccesarily pissed of for about 24 hours!!
  18. Oh dear. Radiohead in topping list compiled by self obsessed 'left field' musos shocker. I have to say pitchfork is a pretty good website and usually worth a read. I take any of their reviews with a veritable job lot of salt (see what I did there). I've about 18 of the top 20 albums and some of them are much loved in the mockney household. Animal collective are superb but among best of all time?!? No way. The only one I'd consider would be Modest Mouses's Moon & Antarctica.
  19. Betting types, odds on hammers to go down?
  20. It's a lovely tale Huguenot but a total straw man as you well know. You can't have it both ways, is it about resources and maintaining our lifestyle or is it about stopping out neighbour beating his wife. I thi k you're the first to suggest that either of these wars are about moral responibilities, which is a leap too far for me.
  21. Ooh, I thought it was Hoopers next month. I'm afraid the winter months precludes my penchant very superlatively tasteless luminous orange combat camouflage shirts. I'll keep them well pressed for the April drinks though.
  22. Right now I'm listening to someone or something called Kay Lee apparently. It seems to involve alot of bad dancing by drunk people. The dads are particularly bad I might add.
  23. Lol. Damn sarongs, silly things.
  24. Yes, but can I understand them?
  25. I guess by now you know I was referring to the November ones. I'm up in some weird foreign country up near the arctic circle where men wear skirts. Freakish place full of odd natives if you ask me brrrrrrr
