  1. I wouldn't worry titch, I can't understand anything I write either sinceive been banished from the PC and forced to use an i'two fat thumbs'Phone
  2. Bloody iPhone
  3. Cake and eat it titch. You either give a shit or not but you seem to be want it both ways. I'm pretty sure we were discussing it because we're bored. There were some calls for a bit of respect for the deceased but I didn't spot any 'fake grief' leave alone any of the nauseating variety (mind you there was some of the mawkish variety on the jade goody rip thread but that's another frying pan to jump into). We can discuss my deceased uncle if you like but even I hardly knew him so probably won't generate much interest.
  4. It was 2/10 to coincide with the second post, but someone distracted me before I managed to click send. Five it was
  5. Plus only a mockney would actually say currant bun. I should know!!
  6. 5 ... out of 10
  7. Just curious, but are the calls for sensitivity regards this story because he was young, attractive, gay or some combination of the above. I don't recall nearly such a cry for decorum after Steven milligan died far too young in err unfortunate circumstances. Of course that was while before the forum could chuck it tuppence worth in. Anyhow. Tis a sad tale. I almost lost one of my best friends to a pulmonary embolism last year from sitting in his bed with his laptop on his legs while recovering from a hockey injury, so clearly sudden deaths can happen young. Were lucky enough to still have him though.
  8. Really? I know the search can be a bit tempremental, but no threads are deleted unless they were particulalry naughty. Nothing should just drop off. Unless the hosts had a bit of an accident doing some DB maontenamnce and failed to mention it.
  9. That reminds mem of Spaced twist - Have sex, thats all you want to do, I'm not here just for on thing. Why can't you see me as a whole Brian? brian - I do twist - no brian. A whole, with a w! Brian - oh
  10. His dad said that he'd died in his sleep on a sofa, so I'd be pretty amazed if he'd been sticking a fork in a toaster. I guess it's just as likely to be alcohol related, but bob's scenario hardly in the realms of fantasy and if bettig allowed such morbid speculation I'm dure would have the shortest odds. Could have been totally natural of course, aneurism, unexpected heart attack (friend of mine dropped dead in his Sunday lunch at 22 of just such an occurence, though I suspect the sheer amount of MDMA and speedhe regularly did of a weekend may have had a factor in that. Anyway, it's sad, condolences etc. but it's hardly an event of world shaking proportions is it, and a little idle speculation is food fornthe forum, not sure why this should somehow be different.

  13. ANd people who don't like the beatles drink 'rubbing alcohol and rape the cat' The Beatles - Rock Band
  14. And if he wasnt already the best reviewer in the business, yahtzee nears genius with a review almost entirely in limerick form Wolfenstein
  15. I appreciate your sentiment, and as always your heart, but it's not really a water tight case is it (you should know better than that). I don't think you're average ignorant racist is making mental differentiations between racial differences, national differences and cultural differences. It's all about fear/hatred and ignorance of the other, hence why your achetypical thug happy to shout abuse at a woman in a veil or beat up a black kid because they're all criminals, will find no mental disconnect in having black mate 'he's alright he's one of the lads' or a even a pakistani friend 'yeah but he's just like a white person, not like these bloody muslims' etc. I agree that it's much easier to direct this at people of a different colour, but regions, uk nationalities and european nationalities are just as open to this ignorant ire. Remember the Russian lad stabbed to death when Germany knocked us out of Euro 96, and the BMWs set on fire. I don't think your 'Dour Scot' is chalk to 'Paki's cheese I think it's just much (much) lower down a sliding scale as RosieH perfectly demonstrated. It's all still born out of laziness and ignorance. - edited last point as i saw I was actually agreeing with you on the national - racial thing, but still think it's about otherness.
  16. Creating a congruence between vague ideas is incredibly easy. The ancients knew far better than we about the vagaries of famine, pestilence, war and plague, doesnt mean they had the foggiest about global warming, dwinding resources (in the wider sense, how could they iagine that when they were at the mercy of dwindling resources in an annual sense) and overpopulation. Their experience and ours are very different, just because they could write down in a book pessimistic notions doesnt mean they had some divine led insight into the challenges that face us today. Coincidence, causality and hindsight often often make convenient yet ultimately uneasy bedfellows ;)
  17. Forza gets exceptional reviews http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/forzamotorsport3
  18. I suppose it may be Keef's social experiment in action. Well, except for the fact that they're admin team will be coincidentally on holiday and probably shut it down if things went awry there. I've noticed people posting there already mind...
  19. And that's of course if the bank is even wiling to lend to you in the first place, which isn't necessarily the case at the moment.
  20. The price of a house isn't necessarily the main factor in the cost, because very very few people are cash buyers. Most of us obviously have to get the bank to buy it in a hire purchase type arrangement. The cost then becomes a reflection on how much you have to stump up initially, fees and of course interest rates. At the moment despite rock bottom BoE rates the cost is relatively high compared to the mortgage bonanza of recent times if you're looking to buy or remortgage. In fact I think banks are currently taking the largest margins on mortgage lending in modern history. So you might be willing to pay ?1000 a month, but not willing to pay ?50k deposit. Hence the cost is too high, demand drops and prices go down. At this point it's much less relevant whether someone is willing to pay ?350k or ?400k face value. Put very very simply of course, as Jeremy said there are a larger number of factors, of which confidence is also a very very key one.
  21. Eek, I honestly wouldn't lend any credence to anything I say. You'll be fiiiiiine.

  23. Unfortunately all the good ones are gone. The thirties men you'll find are either too rubbish to get a girl, too selfish to commit or coming out of a divorce and probably best left alone for a little while. I'd hang around the school soccer matches and eye up the proud dads in their forties who are on their tod and have finally parted with the old wedding ring.
  24. That's not only Essexist, and perhaps speciesist, it's also terribly hurtful to all those with horizontall challenged thumbs. *sulks*
