regards the linking, not sure, will look into it, but they are both wifi enabled so I don't see why they shouldn't.

A casual perusal of private eye every fortnight reveals a depressing catalogue of CEOs who are of a detriment to their businesses, take home ridiculous numeration and still get bonuses, then take home a huge pay-off as the company gets rid of their incompetent asses. It happens, but it doesn't make it right.

I can give you my wii number. I have to say it's the worst interface in the world for trying to add friends and the like. I can never blimmin find it!!!

"poster boy" baddam-tish ;) I'm honestly trying to cut down, just not very good at it. Actually I believe keef is still numero uno.

I'm in cider hangover purgatory.

Woo Tillie....thousandth post!!!!!

That's correct. It's a good start, but you need to do the signal encryption stuff to stop them nicking your bandwidth (or trying to hack the pentagon from it)

*Bob* I explained it in an earlier thread somewhere. But basically on your router configuration thingy you'll find a security tab, or wifi options or something. There you can select which type, WEP is pretty standard and should suffice against anyone but a determined hacker. Generate a 64 or 128 bit code, apply it to your router, then put that code into any objects in your house that receive the wireless signal. Probably your PC (via the receiver's own configuration screen), maybe an XBox or Wii or media centre etc. Simple really.

A friend of mine has a neighbour who is a complete arse and at one point tried to kick his dog. One day my mate noticed said neighbour had unencrypted wi-fi on a netgear router, and hadn't changed the default usr: admin pwd: password router log in. He logged on, changed the router log in and encrypted the man's own signal effectively rendering his broadband totally useless. He changed it back after feeling guilty for a week, but that's what you're setting yourself up for if you don't protect your signal.

Plus if your bandwidth is capped then you're being charged more for any usage over that cap, so technically and practically speaking, he's stealing from you. It's very straightforward to encrypt it, end of problem.

Ha ha ;) As it goes, my local pub was the lovely Blue Bell on tobeckersplein in Amsterdam when I used to live there. We only drank there, none of your lapdancing stuff, the girls were great and we were really good friends by the time I was recalled back to London; the going away party was something to behold!! I've never really been partial to the UK equivalent, the down-at-heel bars in shoreditch are honest but somewhat grubby, and the 'posh' lapdancing places are weirdly unsettling, unpleasant and horribly expensive and I avoid them at all costs. Clare, I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate a beautiful female form, but the whole lapdancing thing is rather sleazy, true enough. Why is it part of the stag do tradition? Not sure really, probably grew out of the whole 'ironic' loaded lad culture and never really went; witness the likes of sarah cox through to Christina Aguilera at it to out-lad the lads.

Another ?2 of the queen's own sterling well spent down the second hand store. Never thought I'd be glad of Fopp's demise after all. Klima - The Lady of the Lake

He he, no probs. We're off to Oxfordshire on a canal boat, ending up in the town for a light ale or two. Anybody any Oxford pub/bar recommendations? I gather half of oxford's estate agents routinely read this forum.

Before we get lounged, denying Alan the chance to reap the benefit of snorky's insalubrious local knowledge, Alan's set up a parallel thread in the lounge to continue this discussion.

I also have the shure. They're hardier, but less comfort and less quality, but also less money! And yes, I have had a tweezer moment with the etymotics too, luckily didn't need to go to casualty for it ;-P

I have to say the last couple of stag dos I've been on (both of which I organised as it goes) were pretty chilled affairs, one was a boat on the thames followed by a great meal in Putney with a looooong lock-in, the next was another decent meal (followed by ladies taking their clothes off admittedly). Keef's looks like it could be more of the same. Call me old-fashioned, but if you're p!ssed enough to be throwing glasses at cars and puking on your shoes then you're not actually having a good time. As for the paintballing, go-karting thing, s'alright suppose, but it has been done to death. Though shotguns is always fun B)

From what I saw at the London, a life in maps exhibition, area naming has been pretty fluid over the years. My spot was called Fox Hill in the 16th century, but the only trace of that name is the pub.

Funnily enough when Mrs Mockers and I were in Tallinn last year, we arrived on a monday and the locals were among the friendliest I've ever happened upon. By thursday evening we were being asked in an accusatory fashion, with narrowed eyes, if we were on a stag do. Once I'd managed to persuade them that we were merely a lone couple, one of whom is, quite clearly a woman, they relaxed a bit, but signs of groups were beginning to appear. Friday morning we fled to Russia (wow, you didn't hear that phrase outside a small circle of homosexual communist cambridge academics until recently). Truly the stag weekend has even surpassed your Faliraki types as our most shameful export, as at least Mediterranean resorts are geared up for that sort of behaviour. I'm sure the last time the walls of Tallinn were so covered in human wastage was when it was besieged by Ivan the Terrible!!

A quick and not very exhaustive search, the sort that juuust might get me into trouble at work, reveals (baddam tish) that it's a choice between the shoreditch ones, one in vauxhall or one in croydon. http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/lapdancing-clubs-in-london-recommended-london-171.html

Mark, is it possible to trace what the move thread button does. If it kicks off a stored procedure or embedded sql, I bet you there's some sort of a bug in there. Any chance you could zap it over so I could have a peek at it?

That ought to be the case here in the UK, but it's pretty hit & miss as I'm sure you well know. I'm sad to inform you however, that you'd probably starve to death in Spain. ;)

I've been to 2 East dulwich stag dos, neither of which ended up in ladyage, but both were entertaining. I can vouch from both occasions that Rod from Franklin's really isn't keen on large groups of noisy men hanging around too long! I think snorky is your best bet for that info. Where on earth is snorky?

Great web site, thanks for that ianj. Didn't someone on here mention the misinformation put out in codes we knew had been cracked by the germans, claiming that central london hits were actually landing in north london, prompting the germans to recalibrate their rockets and hence the ensuing pasting of lewisham, dulwich et al and particularly poor old croydon.

Yes, I gather Tsunami took their eye off the ball for a bit, but recently they've really pulled their socks up, the black cod is there and amazing (the chefs are old Nobu chefs) and the value is as good as I've ever had in the capital. More starters, sashimi, nigri, tempura and other stuff than we could shake a stick at, a decent bottle of wine, and great service, 40 quid a head.
