  1. But I bet you the Kooks' tanks are complete rubbish too!
  2. Have you been reading too many of Louisa's posts sean? Record stylus? luxury, we used to have to play our indie music with coal. I use it as a catch all statement to cover stuff what I like. Snow Patrol won't get a look in, Fight Like Apes will.
  3. yes, she unwittingly came along to the forum drinks in The Dave. I had a chat with her. Quite a nice lady despite the scary hard girl looks. Though she and her pals had clearly been on the sauce all day!
  4. I dunno Bleep. I bought an awful lot of stuff in there over the last couple of years that most people won't and will not have heard of. Mainstream it ain't. I suspect from previous postings that your tastes lean heavily toward electronica, and for this you may well be correct. For indy it was a marvel.
  5. Ooooh, 60 metres. I can go to bed now.
  6. It's not exactly a DS game, but I just can't stop playing this http://flightsimx.cyclops.amnesia.com.au/index.html 15 metre throw so far, have heard tell of a mammoth 93 metre throw.
  7. I am a fan of vinyl, but am without turntable at the moment. Once the telly is on the wall freeing up a surface, I'd like a turntable, the missus would like flowers and photos and things. I fear I may not win this particular battle sadly.
  8. This is quite interesting http://encarta.msn.com/media_701500668_761579162_-1_1/Prevalence_of_Smoking_by_Country_in_the_World.html Vietnam's quite nutty, over half the men smoke and almost none of the women. Does the smoking ban mean we'll never get another series of The Smoking Room? Pity, it was very funny.
  9. Fantastic!!! I love the one with the silly hat :))
  10. Yes, the Castle had a similar smell, as did the backbar at the CPT. I'm guessing most pubs will have a faintly stale urine-like whiff for the best part of a month or so according to my contacts in Ireland. The other thing to watch for is the effect of beer on the human digestive system and the smells that ensue that won't be masked by the aforementioned fug.
  11. Apparently us londoners are feeling jittery today. I will admit that I am, but it's got more to do with the booze I drank watching Wexford's traditional annual annihilation by Kilkenny than fear of terrorism per se.
  12. those pesky sunday nights *cradles own head*
  13. The heights that is Herne hill does seem to have, and have had an awful lot of names. The same wider lump of earth seems to encompass denamrk hill, herne hill, champion hill, dog kennel hill, red post hill and have been called fox hill and heron hill. Any more to add?
  14. wasn't a great day for wexford was it! Pub smelled very much of stale fags. I never thought that could be a sweet smell, but I may have to alter my thinking ;)
  15. 3:30 o'clock?
  16. That's not democracy you propose spadetownboy, that seems to be anarchism. As fine a political philosophy as you'll find but not one that works. This country voted back this morally bankrupt government back in 2005 and thus probably deserves everything it gets. I sure as hell didn't but I'm stuck with it too. As it goes I happen to think this new law is marvellous, not in principle, just because I've been to your fair isle and it's such a breath of fresh air being in smoke free pubs. Utterly selfish of me I know, but sod it, do I look like I care?
  17. how strange i bumped into F&B and mark in TBC last night and mojitos were featured. Had they not gone home yet?
  18. I believe it had the body of a spider and the mind of a baby. "how do you know it's a baby then?" "it's in a pram" One of the best programmes of all time wee quinnie. And yes, the irish festival always makes me think of the episode too.
  19. Swan ?n stockw?ll and h?at are two t?rms that c?rta?nly un?te ?n my mind *shudd?rs with the memor??s* Ooh, btw, anyone up for wexford v kilkenny this afternoon?
  20. Aoibhinn Ni Sh?illeabh?in ?!?!?! that's not a name, that's what happens when you fall on a french keyboard!!
  21. depends on the tree. There's a campaign at the moment to identify and protect our ancient and old trees, some of which are over 5000 years old!!!!! (but most are a couple of hundred)
  22. My god, he looks like an character in brookside, which is sort of appropriate I guess
  23. I think a couple of years they actually thought they were voting for a pint of guiness.
  24. redand proud is just posting an article in the telegraph, dhamaurian an article in an aussie newspaper called the sunday mail. I'm disinclined to believe any paper called the mail even if totally unconnected to our one. Plus the telegraph one was supporting brendan's comment about the dna stuff. So looking like not. And Brendan, me too!!!
  25. Ok this in support. http://www.dhamurian.org.au/anthropology/neanderthal1.html This in denial saying redheads are a new species themselves!! http://www.redandproud.com/Red%20Media%20-%20Daily%20Telegraph%20October%2002%202003.htm who to believe
