I had dismissed trying this years ago as I couldn't figure out how I could rinse it hygienically when using public loos i.e didn't want to rinse it in the sink that other people would be using - any tips?

My 13month old has been going through pretty much the same thing for the past week (incl diarrhoea) but she hasn't had any antibiotics recently. Maybe it's a tummy bug and the antibiotics could be a red herring??? As mentioned, a transient lactose intolerance can develop which perpetuates the problem (not the fever though) and so we stopped all dairy and gave soy milk, which has helped settle her tummy. Will slowly reintroduce dairy over the next few weeks.

How about banana cake, using 3 over ripe bananas? By adding a generous handful of sultanas/raisins I have managed to cut down the amount of caster sugar by 50g without losing the 'sweetness'. I also use margerine instead of butter. Delicious straight from the oven or sliced and warmed in the microwave for 10 seconds.

That lullaby is so funny but so true - he played it at the Comedy Proms last year (not that I saw it live!) and I have recorded it to share with my friends who are expecting their first. Hopefully, they'll see the funny side and also realise it's ok to feel like that when they pacing up and down at 3am with a screaming baby!

Yes, had mice too - every flat in our building did. It's a case of having to treat the whole property not just one flat. We tried various types of traps but the blighters always got back in. The final nail in their coffin was the impending arrival of our child. The thought of mouse poo and urine over the baby's bottles, steriliser (what's the point if you have mice pissing every where??), toys etc was just too disgusting to think about. So we got in Colin from K&O pest control - no mice since! Reasonable price, too.

Thanks both for the info. We eventually managed to track down a pair of black leggings in the Sydenham Sainsbury's. They were size 9-12 months but should fit my daughter's waist/thighs for sometime as she had a slender frame. Black tights for under 2's are very elusive!

Anyone know where I can buy black tights for a 1 year old? Preferably plain but subtle pattern is ok, too. I need them for Sunday so buying online is not really an option. Thanks! ETA: black leggings would be fine, too.
