  1. I used to go to loads of the live recordings (free tickets, free drink, suited me perfectly!) - couldn't stand Mark Lamarr, came across as so arrogant, completely lacking in comic ability IMO. He put me off the show completely, haven't watched it since Simon started hosting - maybe I'll give it a try!
  2. Ooh, Fergus & Lizzie are gorgeous!!
  3. Moos, thanks. Glad he's OK, he's such a sweet cat. Can't believe he's chilled enough to sit in the same room as 2 or more rampaging toddlers - our cat currently leaves home at 8am and returns at 7pm when he knows it's safe, so I imagine he probably has other homes too! My little man calls our Cat Mika "Beeka", but more often than not he also gets called "Dieeeeeeesel". I'm confused about who Lady B is too!!
  4. Here's our lovely Mika
  5. Moos, where's Diesel? Toddler Pickle always looks out for him at Halicon's house, but we haven't seen him for a while.
  6. My worst was throwing up at (not quite on) the feet of the senior partner of the major CA firm I worked for at the work Christmas party. I knew I wasn't feeling well, was trying to make a dash for the loos, he got in my way and started trying to make polite chit chat. Not good. Worse thing was we were only about 2 hours into the party - dinner hadn't even been served and I had to go home! :-$ My excuse... I'd had gladular fever, had been cleared about a week before the party, hadn't drunk alcohol for about 6 months beforehand, and was the only person at the table drinking red wine - not a good combination. That was in NZ. I moved to the UK the following year to escape the daily humiliation of having to face him in the office! Met Mr Pickle at a work function here in the UK where once again I seemed to be the drunkest in the room at early o'clock. Declared him to be "the most handsome man in finance" in front of most of the finance department that I worked for. All this done with my then boyfriend standing behind me watching on. I have never lived it down - yet he still married me!

    Bull

I went to a bullfight a number of years ago in Madrid. Didn't enjoy it, felt it was very barbaric, hated the fact that the bulls were "finished off" in front of everyone. It's one of those things I wanted to experience, but certainly won't be going to another one. One interesting thing however was the way it seemed to be a real family occasion, most of the people there were families with children, all very excited about it, and the kids didn't blink an eye at what was happening to the bulls. I'm not sure what I was expecting the audience to be like, but I wasn't expecting loads of families.
  8. I'm just wiping away the crumbs of a chocolate brownie bought from there this afternoon. Very nice. Also nice is the (still unidentified but delicious) chocolate covered thing... kind of gingery, nutty, flapjack like thing with a thick coating of chocolate. I feel sick, but in a good way ;-)
  9. Good luck to them, I hope they can make a success of it, as it's such a shame to see empty shops. I too am a huge fan of Greetings. Such friendly people, they remember my name, ask after my sister (who they met once when she came into the shop with me) and are always brilliant at keeping my toddler happy while I browse for cards.
  10. Dukesdenver... exactly what I was saying to Mr Pickle last night! Sounds like the "posh" kitchen shop assistants!
  11. Sounds like a perfect evening to me :)

    Iams Cats

Oh dear Moos... it's fine for you to fancy Jermaine. Just keep your hands off Bret, he's mine!
  13. Sorry to hear you guys are having trouble with DMC. I've had to use them quite a lot recently and have had quite the opposite experience, even managing to see someone the same day when I've rung at lunchtime! They have a "duty doctor" who sees people deemed urgent when there aren't any normal appointments left... maybe you need to be more forceful with the receptionist?

    Iams Cats

As my cat is a kiwi (as in a New Zealander, not a bird) he speaks like Jermaine from Flight of the Conchordes.
  15. There was also a Peter Andre CD in that fantastic "take the piss out of older sister" selection from my sister, but I can honestly say it didn't make it onto the Ipod! Not in the same league as Aqua and Hanson. Is it wrong to like that Police song? They play it on Magic all the time, great one for singing along to! :-$ Note, I am not old, just stumbled across Magic one day when bored of Capital's constant playing of Amy Winehouse which was driving me slowly mad... and a year on I still listen to it. Scarily my son gets excited when the strains of "Mrs Robinson" start up - might have to introduce him to something a bit more modern!
  16. Mine has a Hanson album on it. Remember them? Brothers, popular in the 90's with young teenage girls. My sister gave me her old CD as a joke, I got sucked in by that "Mmmmm bop" song. Oh dear. Not to mention the Aqua album, of "Barbie Girl" fame! Makes me smile, many a drunken night spent in NZ pubs dancing to that one!
  17. Maybe I've just been lucky, but in 5 years living in ED I've never had a problem with my post. I get loads of parcels delivered, our postie is very friendly and helpful. Maybe it makes a difference that I'm generally at home during the day? Our long standing postie recently retired, but has been replaced by someone just as good.
  18. That's terrible, my thoughts are with the family.
  19. That's hardcore sweet eating ????! I managed to hold off till 9am!
  20. We've had quite a lot of kids round here tonight. All dressed up brilliantly, very polite, it's been a pleasure. Have now decided it's too late for trick or treaters and we're eating the remainder of the sweets!
  21. ... and I'll be donning my All Blacks one. Let the battle begin!
  22. When I first moved to East Dulwich I was in my mid 20's, unmarried, had a career, my own money and no kids. Then I drank the East Dulwich water - now I lounge about in coffee shops all day (in my dreams!) looking like a Toys 'r' Us advertisement.
  23. Home and Away. Addicted. Totally. Even have it series linked on Sky + :-$
  24. I agree with Carolyn - Cafe 2050's brownies are fantastic. I was an addict, but started to look more pregnant than when I was pregnant so have had to give them up for now. Might get myself one on Friday though, this thread has got me wanting one! Close second (in my opinion) are the ones from the stall outside Moxons.
  25. Just need to figure out how to convince a baby and a toddler to stay in bed for an extra hour tomorrow?!
