You'll be less happy if they do find him and he attempts to have you brought up on a sex offence charge for taking the photo.
  2. Sometimes things that read like poor satire are actually real. This is actually on BBC4 this evening: The Toilet: An Unspoken History Documentary looking at the role of the toilet in our culture, exploring its social history in Britain and abroad, and finding possible future solutions to global sanitation issues. Also in HD.

Then there is a report of a man facing down a woman in the street whilst waving > his dick at her. The latter action is completely unacceptable and a serious matter IMO. There are three issues: the third being a woman taking a photo of a male stranger in a state of undress.
  4. To be fair, it's less a 'cultural' thing and more that we have the plumbing. If women could do it more easily, they almost certainly would.

    Richard and Judy

They might have been a bit clumsy in their words, but it is an issue that is worth shining light upon. Mind you, I have no idea how you could frame an assisted death law without putting vulnerable people at risk.

  7. Interesting. If a man came on here and said he'd taken a photo of a woman peeing in the street I suspect there would be a completely different reaction.
  8. Ping times refer to how long a small message takes to get from your computer to some other computer and back again. Part of this is due to the connection speed and quality of your ISP, but the rest is all the other connections you bounce through, which is what New Wave is referring to. What this means is that your ISP can be significant, but where the receiving computer is also very relevant, if not more so. Pinging another computer in London should (!) be quicker that pinging something in, say. the US. Also, you often see ping speeds get faster from the initial speed as the internet 'learns' better paths to take for your requested connection. E.g. if I ping Google in the US, I get a ping speed of about 21ms, but Google in the UK I get about 17ms. Pinging my own router (over wifi) takes me about 3ms. That's over a Virgin 50Mb line (which I am getting about 54Mb on a speed test!). None of those I would consider slow.
  9. I was thinking more "OK Go" than TMMBG.
  10. Actually, the letter isn't at all incriminating as the papers are making it out to be. It admits an affair, but reiterates that she was of age at the time. The Gruiniad published it in full here... http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/may/09/rolf-harris-letter-alleged-sexual-assault-victims-father
  11. It's always hard to tell where the truth lies in these, but it's worth noting that one of the women at the centre of the case sold her story for big bucks to an Aussie magazine and a TV station last year. I always find that suspicious.
  12. Almost as good as the lyrics to his hit, 'Ben'... If you ever look behind And don't like what you find

  14. I used to work in an office where quite a few employees headed off on a Friday to the local all-you-can-eat veggie curry house. It was like working in a bloody wind tunnel come mid-Friday afternoon.

    Click-through fees

You can pick up affiliate fees from links, but none of faruk's link seem to have the necessary info to do that. I suspect he's just advertising sites that he has a stake in.

    Anarchy

I've always thought that about people who hanker for a full-on socialist system. See how many of them stick it out.
  18. Putting out the recycling. I feel somehow virtuous, even though I know my little heap of paper, cans and bottles is tiny in the grand scheme of things.

Worse - parents who sit their happily whilst their little darling plays a game with the sound on. Teach them good manners FFS.

PokerTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The good news is that seeing as 90% of us live on > just 5% of the land there's always scope (with the > right legislation) to do something. Not inside the M25, where 100% of the people are living on about 90% of the land. You want a house are a decent price? There are plenty in the UK. Hell, they can barely give them away in parts of Liverpool and Manchester. But quids is right - this got done to death in the other thread, with no real answers to what should/could happen in London.

Hmm. Came here 24 years ago with not a lot except a solid education and a couple of years IT experience. Am now happily financially secure after working in IT and my wife in the medical research area. After all that, I seem to now be classified as a "grasping toerag". My mum must be so proud.
  23. The whole issue is that more people want to live in London than it can hold. Reducing house prices by some unnatural mechanism won't change that fact. So, the most obvious answer is 'not London'.

    NHS care.data

I thought this had been put back six months due to the many concerns.
  25. Hang on, you are getting two issues conflated. I want to know the details of why you think the "NHS is prey to American Private Health Companies and their shareholders". All you've done is sent me a pamphlet claiming roughly the same thing without any details.
