"It completely rejects the three-party consensus in favour of austerity and war." Anyone else read this sentence in a way that it wasn't intended?

The presence of cameras might also act as a deterrent. So, CCTV has so far not captured the actual mugging. So how many people need to be mugged to build up this picture to see who was acting suspiciously? And hope it's only one person. Who doesn't change their clothes much. Who probably won't be charged anyway as the evidence would be up the rigours of a court. As for the cameras acting as a deterrent, well most studies disprove this. CCTV is just like a child's security blanket. It doesn't make a place any safer... but I suppose it does have a placebo effect in making people think they are safer. Well, before they get mugged anyway. And the worst thing about CCTV? CCTV is no substitute for actual policing, but it is used for just that. ED station needs more policing. More CCTV is worse than useless. -
Been lucky with Wimbledon Ballot - first time - is there any advice please

I haven't been for a few years, but you will be allocated a specific seat on Court 1. You will also have ground access and so be able to wander around and see the action on the non-show courts. Take a cushion - it's a long day on hard seats. -

Because otherwise it doesn't protect, it just allows you to watch the 'highlights' afterwards of an unrecognisable person wearing a hoodie mugging someone. Muggers might be complete barstewards, but they're generally not stupid. -
Gay marriage? Let's have a referendum

The point I was trying to make Bob is that non-Christians feel they can attack the Christian church (not just C of E) in a way they would never dream (and would indeed be scared of) attacking other religions. -

Gay marriage? Let's have a referendum

Would you get on a bus that said, "Allah makes some people gay - get over it"?? -
The original name for Subbuteo was supposed to be 'Hobby', but the Patents Office told him that was too general a term to be registered as a trademark. The inventor knew there was was a Hobby hawk, whose latin name was Falco Subbuteo so he used that as the name instead.

Same reason I won't buy Persil Color

eBay, if you haven't left it too late. Loads on there. Got myself a fetching blonde mullet and a 'Choose Life' t-shirt. Hellloooo George.

I used to have an old Astra. One night, someone smashed the rear door window, opened the car, took one look at my radio and left it where it was. The shame.

I think you might be right, Sue...

Search online with your model number - there are loads of manuals on the net.
-
There's been ads everywhere for this. You need to rescan for your channels - check your TV manual for how to do this. And you'll need to do it again on the 18th April.

The same goes for street signs. Those "Slow Children Crossing" signs are just terrible - how dare the comment on the fact that some of them are not very quick on the uptake...

Good lord, why do people think CCTV is the answer to these problems? Let's think this through. The police could: 1) Install a CCTV camera. With the pole, the camera, the cabling and the comms, this would take about six months and cost rather a lot of money. They would also have to monitor the camera, which will either be dedicated monitoring station (more money) or part of a wider monitoring system, which means there would be quite a chance that anyone being mugged wouldn't be noticed. Also, since cameras have limited visibility, there would need to be a number of cameras, increasing both the cost and the probability that any mugging would be missed. 2) Go all old fashioned and deploy a couple of plain clothes police. Or even uniformed ones, if you want a deterrent effect. On the other hand, CCTV does allow you to watch a replay of your mugging afterwards, possibly in slow motion, so it's not all money wasted, is it? -

Really, Cas59? A danger to society??? For pointing out something in post on a forum? Good grief, get some perspective. -
The coverage is good, but the pundits were absolutely atrocious last year. So toe-curlingly bad you just had to watch them.

I think they get a few other kickbacks as well. They are now of such a size that they have quite a bit of leverage over the internet shops.

e-dealer - why do you say "Hayes Grove is not just convenient for Commuters". Seems pretty convenient, being across the road from the station. -
If they are wine buffs, then this is an excellent reference book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Oxford-Companion-Wine-Companions/dp/0198609906/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333448722&sr=8-1
