  1. Also see this thread (the link goes to the page with the video on it): /viewtopic.php?t=2284594&start=60
  2. That's appalling. Do they belong to some professional association you could complain to?
  3. I had a load of Christmas cards yesterday, (including one which normally arrives in November 😂) two packages and some financial stuff. Haven't had a Private Eye for weeks, though. Bit pointless subscribing when it's so out of date when it arrives (if it ever does).
  4. ❤️❤️❤️ In the past, I've only had mice come into the house (to the best of my knowledge) when I've left food out. I can see they might want to come in out of the cold, but surely they will need to eat?
  5. ❤️❤️❤️
  6. Great film!
  7. Years ago I caught a mouse in a humane trap and released it in a field. The poor little thing was so frightened it didn't want to come out of the trap. My brother once set humane traps but then forgot to check them. He found a mummified (?) mouse in one, months later 😭
  8. Our Wildlife Group say it's a redwing winter - they have come here in numbers as the Scandinavian rowan berry crop failed this year. Amazing they know where to come to find berries 😮 - all that way 😮
  9. Have you contacted Miele to see if it could be repaired? I've got an old Miele cylinder vacuum in the loft which I'm keeping for building work use. It served me very well for years, but I have to say I much prefer my cordless Dyson upright.
  10. There are two separate issues here: The cruelty of leaving a dog outside for long periods of time in sub zero temperatures and The annoyance the dog's barking is causing to nearby residents Does anybody know whether council workers from the noise control team would liaise with appropriate council teams or external organisations about the cruelty aspect? Because it seems to me that the dog should be taken away from whoever owns it, if what has been posted on this thread is accurate. It isn't just the noise aspect which needs to be taken seriously. It's also rather sad (in the original meaning of the word) if people nearby have gone to the trouble of contacting the council about the noisy barking, but haven't contacted (say) the RSPCA about the neglected dog. I really hope I am wrong about that.
  11. Yes, but also, once they had decided to sell the Silvester Road office (which they said was not fit for purpose) they made no apparent attempt to investigate other possible options within SE22 which were suggested to them, for example a unit on one of the small industrial estates (not sure if that's the correct term).
  12. Recently my neighbour told me that a package for me (Royal Mail) had been left on her wall. I complained to Royal Mail and got a reference number. Surprise surprise, no response. I suppose I should be grateful that at least nobody took the package before my neighbour saw it. I've just tried to rebook the "re" delivery of my medication which was supposed to have been "re" delivered on 16th. I got a message saying I had already booked a redelivery. Er, yes! I did! It didn't happen! So then I tried to make a complaint. It seems now you can only do that by phone or by - POST!!!! Grrrrr
  13. On 15 December I had an email saying RM had tried to deliver a 24 hour tracked package, nobody seemed to be in and they had left a card. I was in all day. No card was left. I looked around outside. Nothing there Asked if neighbours had taken it in. No. I rearranged redelivery for 16th. I still haven't had it. It is medication from Lloyds Direct and is presumably supposed to take priority Not sure what to do now, whether to ask GP to send another prescription direct to Lloyds in NCR to be collected Never had a problem with Lloyds Direct packages before.
  14. Some years back I got a tape dispenser. It transformed my life. No more losing the end of the tape, and wrapping presents is a doddle 😀
  15. I was confused as you were previously posting under the name Nicola, and there was no indication you had any connection with the Neighbourhood Vet apart from -it seemed - having found two cats and taken them there!!! The topic "Found Large black male cat Ivydale road" received a new reply by Nicola L since your last visit to "The East Dulwich Forum". No more emails will be sent until you visit the topic.
  16. Excellent outcome, well done and I apologise for my pessimism!
  17. Forgive a stupid question, but that's the second cat you have posted on here today. How do you know they are lost?
  18. On the mend I think, thanks for asking. Still testing positive. Still in bed, mainly just cough now and limbs have started aching. Not got any energy to do anything, sleeping a lot on and off. Hope everybody else is keeping well, Covid seems to be running wild at the moment, and apart from the Zoe app nobody seems to be collecting data. Plus as you now have to pay for tests, I'm guessing many people with symptoms just aren't testing.
  19. Unfortunately the chances of someone seeing a post in the lost and found section of this forum must be pretty low. Is there nothing in the purse which could help find the owner? Was the name on a bank card? Might the bank not be able to contact her? And why did the person who found the purse ask you (presumably a complete stranger) to tell the police instead of doing it himself?
  20. Could it be this?: On Friday 19th August around 6 PM, my tortoise escaped to the pavement and was picked up by a lady in a red Audi. This happened opposite the Sports Centre. Please if you know the whereabouts of my tortoise could you contact me at 1 Crystal Palace Road.
  21. Does anyone know what the Blue Mountain is going to become?
  22. I had to cancel a session recently at short notice due to illness. I was easily able to transfer the payment and the session to another week by phone. I imagine you could do this more than once if necessary. The person I spoke to was helpful. Also, I had previously been told that you can just turn up without having booked, but they can't guarantee you will get in Surely they have to have some limit on numbers or there would be no space for people to actually swim? I go to lane swimming, don't know what the other kinds of sessions are like, but there would just be jams if they had many more people there! Maybe try and find out which sessions attract the least people and/or the most cancellations/no shows? Many people just don't turn up when the days are short and cold, I think. Why not discuss your situation with the swimming manager there? His name is Peter and he has an office somewhere behind the reception area. I imagine you could just ask for him at reception, or maybe phone to book an appointment? Or write a letter and hand it in at reception and they will put it on his desk, which is what I did (about something else). I don't know if he has an email address. Don't forget to include your contact details and/or your Everyone Active membership number!
  23. Anybody else with these symptoms, please could you take a Covid test, and isolate if it is positive? Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, once I am better I am going back to wearing a mask on public transport which is crowded and/or not well ventilated.
  24. It's Covid 😭 I had done a test previously, but according to 111 (who suggested my taking another test) lately a test may not show positive until five days in. I phoned them because I wanted advice re the paracetamol I was taking for the throat pain. Great time of the year to get it, eh? Hope everybody else who has it or another virus gets well soon!
  25. Lots of flowering plants seem to have had their flowering schedule completely disrupted by the weird weather we now have. This is bad news for insects (and indirectly birds, whose food sources for their young are also disrupted)
