Sending hugs, NewWave. Does the shop where you work not ask customers to wear masks?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't added to mine! -
I'd have been up for that, but I've had both mine too.

I have a vague memory that there was a big sign up when I went for a blood test saying something about an HIV test. I have a vague memory that it was completely optional. I'm pretty sure that a GP would not request an HIV test directly unless there was a clinical reason for it which would have been discussed with the patient. I may be wrong, in which case surely this should be taken up with the GP and the relevant authorities as a matter of urgency? -
I had a tour of the Tower by the Ravenmaster a few years back, we were lucky as it isn't always him who does them. He was excellent. Surely he could only be sure she'd crossed the bridge if they had found a body?

We should have a zero tolerance policy. Like New York did. Maybe.

Poor fox! I'm not fond of magpies. They have nasty big pointy beaks and they seem to terrorise other birds 😶 In my garden anyway!

The comment about the low dosage may or may not be correct but it was based on what somebody had written who had read the whole paper, as was the comment about Prednisolone. No it wasn't research about side effects. However given that (I believe) side effects relate to one's immune system reacting to the vaccine, lack of side effects could imply that it didn't, which would make sense if you have a compromised immune system due to taking steroids. I don't think it is the severity of the CID which is important - it is the dosage of steroids. But, as I said, preliminary research.

Some very worrying preliminary (I stress preliminary) research has been done which suggests that even very low doses of a steroid such as Prednisolone can reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine. I think it was done with the Pfizer vaccine so it may not apply to other vaccines. Just a heads up that if you are on steroids you may not be as protected as you had hoped after your two jabs 😭 https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.04.05.21254656v1

I got two items today, both sent first class, one on 23 March and the other on 25 March. They were both financially related. It's still pretty poor service, isn't it? I'm in Ulverscroft Road.

Now that has made me want a cup of lapsang, which I haven't tasted for decades. Long long ago there was a place on Lordship Lane (was it Le Chandelier?) which had a huge variety of teas to drink there. Can't remember if they sold the leaves to take away, though.

Surely they are non essential shops so 12 April?

How long to get a date for 2nd vaccine? *Update*
Sue replied to wee quinnie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had my second jab at St Thomas's today. I hadn't noticed from the texts that my vaccination centre was a different one to last time, but it was on the same site, so no big deal. No queue at all outside, and only a ten minute wait when inside (plus the fifteen minute wait after, which is apparently only if you are having the Pfizer jab). So very much quicker than my first time, and seemingly quicker than yours, ianr? The person who gave me the jab said it had been a very steep learning curve for everybody but that they were now much more organised, which indeed seemed to be the case! In fact the worst wait was on the number 12 on the way there stuck in the traffic jam round the back of the Peckham shops, grrrrr. -
Mine are painted all white including the handrail 🙂

I think to talk about a "very small minority" you would have to have a rather larger sample of people with no symptoms than you and your wife and your friends 🤣 I know people who have had very bad reactions and also people who have had no symptoms at all, but I wouldn't presume to draw any conclusions from such small numbers 🤣

How long to get a date for 2nd vaccine? *Update*
Sue replied to wee quinnie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've just had very good news, just had a text to say that the date for my second jab has been brought forward a week and will now be next Wednesday! Hooray! I'm particularly delighted as I have a hospital appointment two days after the original date, and wasn't sure whether to change it, but had decided to see how I was on the day and hope that any side effects had subsided :) Hopefully they will have well subsided nine days later!
