I had one of the worst meals of my life there. I can't even begin to describe how terrible it was. I love Thai food, and this was an absolute abomination. To be fair, it was on New Year's Day, it was quite a few years back, virtually nowhere else on Lordship Lane was open, many people had therefore ended up at Sema Thai, and the staff seemed rather overwhelmed. However, that doesn't excuse the pitiful plates of crap we received after a very, very, very long wait. We have never been back since :(

    scam number

If you get a call from a number you don't recognise and think it might be a scam/spam, you can google it. There are several websites which will tell you whether other people have reported it, and why. If you don't find it by googling, of course, it doesn't mean that it isn't a scam, or spam, but it can be useful.

I'm not replacing them with "non sash windows."

  11. Apologies if I've missed it, but what is happening at the old Threshers site in Lordship Lane? It is boarded up and something finally seems to be happening there!
  12. I'm pretty sure that the pollution referred to by the OP was nothing to do with a woodburner. It was the same again on early Sunday evening when we went out - horrible choking fumes from somewhere in the North Cross Road area, spreading all down the adjacent roads. It wasn't woodsmoke, and as before it smelled like some sort of coal - or other non-smokeless fuel - being burned on an open fire. At least we were going out, so didn't have to sit in my living room breathing it in.

It didn't really encourage us to return. Hopefully, as jimbo says, they have upped their game.

  16. fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- I'm quite happy to believe many herbal > remedies are effective (although saying that, lack > of testing/regulation makes it hard to know which > ones are really effective, and what the side > effects may be) Well, very many what you describe as "herbal" remedies are now integrated within conventional medicine. Digitalis is derived from foxgloves. Just one example.

If the > substance works, why not prove it in a clinical > trial. First of all, it's not "alternative". It is "complementary." Very few practitioners of complementary medicine would suggest you give up going to your GP if necessary (apart from obviously minor ailments), and if anybody did I'd suggest you find somebody else. Secondly, to have a clinical trial you need to have sufficient subjects for any results to be statistically significant. And you need to have strict criteria on what is going to be considered a "successful" result. And the trial needs to be extremely rigorously controlled. Complementary medicine and treatments, by their nature, do not lend themselves to that kind of trial. But I don't even know why I'm bothering.
  18. Depending on what you are intending to grow, some seeds need heat to germinate, some don't. I agree that you would save yourself a lot of hassle if you buy plants which need to be started off under protection as plug plants rather than try to grow them all from seed from scratch. King's Seeds are very good for high quality vegetable plug plants, and they will deliver them at various dates depending on when you need them. They don't just sell seeds, despite their name :) https://www.kingsseeds.com/Products/Plug-Plants/Vegetables
  19. A lot of complementary remedies and treatments work on an energetic level. I haven't found homeopathy helpful, but I have found other complementary treatments helpful, and I don't believe due to a placebo effect. There is absolutely no point in discussing it on here, because there are people who will always mock. Like somebody who can't see in colour, so does not believe that it could possibly exist. Also, I think it is quite wrong that very personal information about a specific individual and business has been posted on here, and I think it should be deleted.
  20. What seeds are you wanting to sow? Some can just be sown directly in the ground (later on).
  21. dimples Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi there sue , > Could you possibly upload this letter on here so > we could down load it and fill it in so we all > can receive this survey ? That's a good idea, but it won't be today. I would have to scan three sides, reduce the files to forum accepted sizes andd then upload them. So then that would be jpegs which I don't know if you could print out to A4 size. Not everyone will have a printer. It will also mean the preaddressed side with the Freeport address is on a separate jpeg. I will also have to check with the people who sent it out that they are OK with me doing that. Also obviously not everyone in SE22 reads the forum, so physical copies would still have to be delivered. I am running a singaround at The Ivy House tonight so going out shortly. Will try to look at it tomorrow.

Well, certainly cheap, but it depends on the quality of the cut, doesn't it?
  23. Yes ETA: To avoid confusion; The letter and the survey are completely separate. And the survey does not include those words. Insert rolling eyes emoji here :)
  24. "Add their names to a piece of labour policy with which they don't agree"? How are they doing that, exactly? FFS. I'm going out now, but from the rest of your post it seems that (yet again) you are making assumptions, as you have done in previous posts.
