Thanks both. I'm not making a special trip up there for one light bulb, so it will have to wait for my next visit! Thanks again!

I was in the children's bit of the A and E in King's not long ago, and there was what appeared to be a whole family in there eating burgers and chips.

Language changes, otherwise we'd all still be speaking and writing like Chaucer (assuming he spoke like he wrote :)) ) or in fact, going back to the mists of time, just sort of burbling :))

Thank God I changed from the Science to the Social Science faculty at uni :)) (I was the only person in first year chemistry who not only got none of their deposit back, but I broke so much stuff I had to pay more. Happy days :)) :)):)) )

A long life light bulb has just come to the end of its long life. Does anybody know if these can be recycled in Southwark (and if so where) or if they need to be disposed of in some special place (and if so where), or if they just go in the green bin for landfill? Thanks!
-
They are still in use. You can get them from the library (and other places). Not everybody has space for a large brown bin!

Not sure what you mean by a vertical garden, but there are lots of fab climbers which will clothe the garden boundaries. You just need to make sure you choose plants suited to the soil and to the direction the plants will face. ETA: If they aren't self-clinging, you will need to put some vine eyes and horizontal wires onto the walls and fences, so they have something to climb on, and be prepared to tie the plants in as necessary. Don't plant them too near the base of the wall/fence or they may get no rain. Start them off with a cane angled towards the wall/fence. ETA: Don't do as I stupidly did and plant a load of very vigorous climbers in a very small garden, however .....

Thanks for that. I've now had the vertigo since August Bank Holiday Monday :(

I have a hospital appointment on Wednesday (should have been last week but it was postponed). I hope to know more then. Feeling pretty ill at the moment :(

Whenever we have used Deliveroo or Just Eat, the food has always seemed to come directly from the local restaurant? (The Gowlett, Surma, Franco Manca, probably others I've forgotten).

Thanks from me too (another Stik lover!) ETA: Where is that huge piece? The article just says London, it doesn't say where!

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
Sue replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Just to give the email address of the Royal Mail CEO again: [email protected] and you can copy your complaints to Helen Hayes: [email protected] Obviously your email won't go to the CEO personally, but at least it should go to somebody in his office who should then do something about it, particularly if they think an MP has been involved. And if you wanted to copy it to the press ..... or papers' consumer pages .... or post it on Royal Mail's Twitter page (if they have one? And if it's called a page?!) ...... I got a longstanding issue with BT resolved by posting it on their Facebook page. It's amazing what publicly naming and shaming can do! -

The more complaints, the more likely it is that something will actually get done (I admit the likelihood is still quite low). -

Pity they haven't told their customer services people that, then. Pissups in breweries spring to mind. -

I'm surprised there is no mention of moped thefts (i.e. thefts using mopeds) or bike thefts (i.e. thefts of bikes) in any of the above? -
I always feel deep satisfaction when somebody overtakes me only to get stopped at the next set of lights .....

DulwichBorn&Bred Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I told them > I couldn?t even get through to them on the number > listed on their missed card but they didn?t have > anything to say to that. Was that the general Royal Mail customer services number? I had to wait nearly ten minutes before I got through, but they did answer eventually. -

On the search thing (Chrome/Google) on my mobile I get a load of "articles for you" underneath the search box, which in weak moments I read. I have a lot of weak moments :)) Despite supposedly having identified subjects I am interested in, I still get mainly crap, and you're right. The Express does this all the time, and it's REALLY annoying. I had never previously noticed that it was only the Express which did this, but I've just looked, and it is.

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..

I suggest we inundate Royal Mail with letters/emails about this fiasco. Copy them to Helen Hayes, who is already fighting a battle on our behalf. Phone calls may not be recorded anywhere, despite what they say. It's hardly in their interests to do so, is it? This really can't go on. It's disgraceful. -
Ulverscroft Road Royal Mail parcel mix up

Given the present chaos with the mail, is it possible that the postie tried to deliver a parcel, then left a card at your house, that was actually meant for another house? Maybe the parcel wasn't for your house at all? Otherwise, maybe you could call/drop a note through various neighbours' doors, maybe giving your phone number, to see if they have got your parcel? Not everybody in East Dulwich reads this forum, or is even aware of it, amazing though that may sound! -

DulwichBorn&Bred Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- She said from Monday there will be no > more redeliveries What does that mean? That from now on if you miss a delivery you have to go and get it from the office? Suppose you can't, eg due to illness? Clearly it has been absolutely pointless lately requesting a redelivery, as that appears to be just completely ignored, however surely they should be getting their publicised redelivery system working properly, not just scrapping it? -
