Retro, innit. Shippams paste, YEH. Memo to self: Go To Bed. ETA: That's weird. As I posted this, the subject box is saying Re: F***s sake instead of the $(*&%&?y# stuff. How did that happen? Numbers, what did you originally type?

Lukewarm bhajis, dull sauces with lack > of heat regardless of what's ordered. xxxxxx Tandoori Nights was great when it first opened - many moons ago ..... Judging by my last visit there (recently), it's now absolutely rubbish. Main course described on the menu as "with green chillies" arrived without a hint of chilli, green or otherwise, and totally bland. Cobra six pounds a bottle. Six pounds!!! Nobody came to ask us how our food was (we would have told them!!!!) during our meal, despite the fact the place was empty (not suprised), then they expressed surprise when we crossed off the "service" charge. New owners, new chef, who knows. Absolutely dire. Won't go back. Ever.

I quite often find interesting things in it. Whereas "Absolutely Dulwich" is, as stated above, a load of boll***s.
  4. The police never turned up????? Disgraceful if true.

Crispy outside and juicy inside. Don't remember much about the puddings apart from something we called snot pudding which was leftover cold semolina smeared on top of leftover cold pastry. The kids who had to stay on Friday afternoon for music lessons were "lucky" enough to get that for lunch. Yum. Maybe Jamie Oliver could resurrect it for his money saving programme.

Couldn't get the map at a large enough scale to really see where the flightpaths were .... Duh.

  9. I love the "Cash only. Peckham, innit." on the website :))
  10. Also be aware that the roadworks are massively holding up traffic (including buses).
  11. Behave :))
  12. An excellent candidate. I'm with John here :)
  13. Can anybody point me in the direction of a map showing flight paths over the Nunhead area? Ta :)

  16. Chimney breasts are useful to put shelves at one side of? Or both sides, possibly? Shelves could be useful in a dining room? If you aren't wanting to do that, and you'd have more space without it, why not take it out - you could have a picture, or a mirror, as a focal point in the room? Or if you're concerned about the effect on a future sale, why not ask the advice of an estate agent before you decide? ETA: Is it the chimney breast itself, or removing the fireplace? I realise I may have misunderstood your post ....

    Shutters - why?

Prunella_Gatsby Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thats the very reason people shut their > shutters/curtains because of perverts/potential > burglar like you peering in! xxxxx Nobody can see in in the daytime if you have translucent blinds or similar, and in the nighttime you'd be shutting curtains anyway probably. It's the boarded-up keep-out appearance during the day which I personally dislike. Also, ironically, keeping shutters shut may actually encourage burglars, because they think if your shutters are closed you are probably away from home.
  21. woodrot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > gentrification suckling bandwagon jumping art > facilitator shite. xxxxxx No it's not, it's very useful in finding out what's on.
  22. fl0wer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What would encourage you to walk and cycle more? > Do you think Southwark is more biologically > diverse than it was 10 years ago? > What do Southwark's parks mean to you?" xxxxx They're rather vague questions, don't you think?
  23. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Earthly Powers is a great read, and also doubles > up as a handy door stop... xxxxxx Yeh, brilliant book. Famous first line: "It was the afternoon of my eighty-first birthday, and I was in bed with my catamite when Ali announced that the archbishop had come to see me." ETA: I've read 26 of the books on the list too. Intrigued to see that he's read Douglas Harding (in particular) and RD Laing.

Re burglars and open gates, I think that must be a myth. The people living there are not the only people going up and down the path and closing (or not) the gate!
