  3. I will be taking tickets offline early tomorrow morning so that I can print out the ticket list and go down to DHFC, so if you want to buy one after that you will need to come to DHFC! :)-D
  4. .
  5. We do hope to see lots of you at DHFC tomorrow, in a nice warm cosy room listening to some brilliant music all day and into the evening, buying raffle tickets and cakes, and helping your new community garden at the same time! You will be able to see the plans for the garden, and talk to some of the people involved - and volunteer to help if you feel like some outdoor exercise in 2012!
  6. There is a folk choir starting on Tuesday 31 January which will practice Upstairs At The EDT if that sounds the sort of community activity you would be into. PM me if you'd like a contact email address (it's not being run by The Goose ) It will be doing three part harmony songs from Orkney, Scotland, Ireland and England.
  7. Just a reminder that this is happening THIS SUNDAY !!!!
  8. There is a new community garden just starting out in the grounds of Dulwich Hospital - they are looking for more volunteers: See this thread! The Goose Is Out! (aka FlapJackDavey and I) is running a fundraiser day for the garden this Sunday if you fancy coming along and meeting people involved with the garden - See this thread! ETA: Lots of brilliant live music and only a fiver, under 12s free! Come and meet some local bands as well!

The East Dulwich "Hotel" > probably not the sort of place to put the in-laws > (or then again.....???). xxxxxxxx The Victoria Inn in Bellenden Road has rooms - short walk from East Dulwich. We put musicians up there.
  10. Latest updated list of fab raffle prizes now attached above! Thanks so much everybody for your support for this community project! :)-D
  11. monica Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tickets can be > bought from the Goose website xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Just to be clear, there is indeed a link from the Goose website to the ticket site, but if you want to click through to buy tickets directly, this is the link to use: www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout To find out more about the musicians and the day, please click here: www.thegooseisout.com/events.html#fund Please note that the live music starts at 2pm and ends shortly before 9pm (when we will be announcing the results of the sealed bid auction plus the amount raised by the whole fundraising day), so whether you are a lark or an owl, have children or don't, we hope that you will be able to come and enjoy at least some if not all of it! And don't forget, UNDER 12s ARE FREE!!!! :)-D ETA: There will be an informal jam session after the "official" Goose/fundraiser part of the day finishes around 9pm, so if you are still raring to go at 9pm the night will still be young :)
  12. The sealed auction bids for the ?940 and ?450 items will start at only ?50 - so you could be in with a chance of a real bargain if you put a bid in! And help the community garden at the same time! :)
  13. There was a thread on this ages ago - can't remember what section of the forum it was in though, it was in the Autumn I think.
  14. I am so disappointed! I went out today to view these bottles and they had gone!!! Or have they been moved elsewhere? Or did I somehow miss them? :-S:))
  15. Yeh that's true, duh :-$

  17. Most if not all of these churches must surely have been there when people moved to their homes. It is obvious that many people are going to drive to them and will need to park somewhere when they are attending a service. Isn't it? Obviously I'm not condoning anybody blocking somebody's drive, but that's a separate issue. Unless it's residents' parking only (a can of worms) parking in a road is not restricted to residents! Whilst I understand the frustration, some of the comments above remind me of somebody moving next door to a pub which has live music and then complaining about the noise.
  18. Here's the updated list of raffle prizes! Only a few days to go now, folks! Hope to see lots of you at DHFC (next to Sainsbury's) THIS SUNDAY 22 January from 2pm to 9pm for seven hours of top quality music plus the chance to win some brilliant prizes! Don't forget - tickets are only a fiver, you can come and go all day for that, and UNDER 12s ARE FREE! We won't be asking for proof of age, but as this is a fundraising day, we hope you'll be honest :)) Let's all get together and raise lots of money for this excellent local initiative - a garden that everybody in the community can be involved with and share :) And come and support six of our top local bands/musicians plus the legendary Wizz Jones - all for a fiver or free! They are all giving their time for nothing, including Wizz, in aid of the community garden, so we hope to have a good crowd for them! :)-D

  20. Now she can yank all the kids' books out instead :)
  21. I popped into Cheners Books in Lordship Lane (near Goose Green) today and was delighted to see a lovely airy room at the back of the shop has been converted into a space for all the children's books. It looks great and it's much easier to find things now and browse through the books. Also they have many of my old childhood favourites :)
  22. Thanks Admin, you're a star :) Please everybody come to the fundraising day, hear lots of great music for practically nothing, buy raffle tickets to have a chance to win lots of great prizes, AND help your new local community garden at the same time! Win-Win all round :) And if you'd like to read the thread which tells you about the sealed bid auction for kindly donated items worth ?940 and ?450 Please click here!
  23. Excellent! Please tell all your friends! :)
