I do hope a few stuck around! xxxxxxx They were still around at the start of the Winter, and there are places around my garden where they could have hidden/hibernated, but I haven't seen any since then :-S
  2. No sign of froggies in my tiny pond :-S Though a cat was showing great interest in it the other day ....
  3. Probably a designer dress at ?5k or whatever may be considered "value for money" by some people. That doesn't make it "cheap". To say ?15 is "cheap" is coming from the perspective of somebody who isn't on a very small income. I run music gigs, and we give a 33% discount to people who are unwaged, even though we generally have to pay the musicians a lot of money. It would be nice if galleries did the same. Some of them do.

    The Reliant

I received two identical emails from The Reliant. I answered both of them. Then I sent a third email asking why I'd not had an answer to my queries. I haven't had a response to any of my emails. Why did they bother emailing me if they can't be bothered to respond to my replies? I'm not impressed.
  5. Excellent! :))
  6. I wasn't referring to the value or otherwise of the ticket price, I was referring to your statement that it "seems pretty cheap." I meant, to a lot of people including myself, ?15 isn't "cheap", regardless of how great value for money it might be. If I misunderstood what you meant, then apologies.
  7. Blimey! I haven't read that word since Earthly Powers. ?It was the afternoon of my eighty-first birthday, and I was in bed with my catamite when Ali announced that the archbishop had come to see me.? Somebody nominated it as the best first sentence in fiction. Anyway, back to the CPT, I sincerely hope the Ladies is going to be improved from the one tiny cubicle they had before. If there was somebody standing at the basin, you couldn't get into the bog, either :))

    Mice!

northlondoner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sticky traps. Pretty ghastly - but not as ghastly > as the mice. xxxxxx Depends whether you're looking at it from your perspective or the mouse's, I guess :) Not a very quick death for the mouse :-S
  9. I'm with Plusnet, and they keep sending me info about some super duper thing they've got in the area, which may well be fibre, but as it goes straight into the recycling when it arrives, I can't be sure :))

    Indian Food

I think they're all very variable, but Dulwich Tandoori (not Tandoori Nights) would get my overall vote if you're looking for a curry type dish. Indian Mischief if you're looking for more interesting Indian food. But if I was looking for quality Indian food round here I'd avoid Lordship Lane and walk the ten or so minutes to Ganapati ....
  11. There are other threads re exactly the same thing happening on previous occasions, including in the same part of ED. I would have thought phoning 999 was somewhat inappropriate, scam or not, but if that's what the SNT say then next time they come to my door I will, instead of telling them the stuff they are selling is overpriced carp. :))

  13. David Shrigley knows who it is
  14. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ?15 seems pretty cheap to me. xxxxxxx Presumably that's because you're not living on a pension or otherwise unwaged.
  15. This is a constant theme on here, and a constant theme of mine is that people need to report every single item which they don't receive, so that Royal Mail can identify any patterns and nail the thief (if there is one). There is a compensation process, but it only applies to specific delivery methods. However if things go missing, Complaints can be sent to Royal Mail HERE

  18. gamerr Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I was priveliged enough to have a fox poo in my > garden while I was standing a few feet away. > Picture attached. xxxxxxx I once had a Crapping Cow calendar. Maybe you could produce a Crapping Fox calendar. Only another eleven pictures to go :))

Great food though, I agree.

  21. Spiral Staircase Ralph McTell album (and song) from zillions of years ago. I've actually got it somewhere :-$
  22. If anyone is in Oxford there's a good Graham Sutherland exhibition on at the moment. Somewhat different landscapes to David Hockney's :) ETA: And entrance was by donation, not bloody ?15 :))
  23. Eh? I've bought some great books and other stuff from the Trinity Hospice shop :)
  24. I theoretically have blocked calls like these, but I still occasionally get them. I just put the phone down.
