We put musicians up there.

monica Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tickets can be > bought from the Goose website xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Just to be clear, there is indeed a link from the Goose website to the ticket site, but if you want to click through to buy tickets directly, this is the link to use: www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout To find out more about the musicians and the day, please click here: www.thegooseisout.com/events.html#fund Please note that the live music starts at 2pm and ends shortly before 9pm (when we will be announcing the results of the sealed bid auction plus the amount raised by the whole fundraising day), so whether you are a lark or an owl, have children or don't, we hope that you will be able to come and enjoy at least some if not all of it! And don't forget, UNDER 12s ARE FREE!!!! :)-D ETA: There will be an informal jam session after the "official" Goose/fundraiser part of the day finishes around 9pm, so if you are still raring to go at 9pm the night will still be young :)

The sealed auction bids for the ?940 and ?450 items will start at only ?50 - so you could be in with a chance of a real bargain if you put a bid in! And help the community garden at the same time! :)

There was a thread on this ages ago - can't remember what section of the forum it was in though, it was in the Autumn I think.

Strange bottles full of orange liquid
Sue replied to tarafitness's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am so disappointed! I went out today to view these bottles and they had gone!!! Or have they been moved elsewhere? Or did I somehow miss them? :-S:)) -
Yeh that's true, duh :-$

Most if not all of these churches must surely have been there when people moved to their homes. It is obvious that many people are going to drive to them and will need to park somewhere when they are attending a service. Isn't it? Obviously I'm not condoning anybody blocking somebody's drive, but that's a separate issue. Unless it's residents' parking only (a can of worms) parking in a road is not restricted to residents! Whilst I understand the frustration, some of the comments above remind me of somebody moving next door to a pub which has live music and then complaining about the noise.

Here's the updated list of raffle prizes! Only a few days to go now, folks! Hope to see lots of you at DHFC (next to Sainsbury's) THIS SUNDAY 22 January from 2pm to 9pm for seven hours of top quality music plus the chance to win some brilliant prizes! Don't forget - tickets are only a fiver, you can come and go all day for that, and UNDER 12s ARE FREE! We won't be asking for proof of age, but as this is a fundraising day, we hope you'll be honest :)) Let's all get together and raise lots of money for this excellent local initiative - a garden that everybody in the community can be involved with and share :) And come and support six of our top local bands/musicians plus the legendary Wizz Jones - all for a fiver or free! They are all giving their time for nothing, including Wizz, in aid of the community garden, so we hope to have a good crowd for them! :)-D

The ones in Peckham are cracking > and it'd be greater to have better value for money > on the Lane. xxxxxx It's a fairly easy walk from ED down to Asda or Lidl in Peckham, so I can't see why we'd need one in ED as well - but I assume you are just winding people up? :)) -
Great new childrens' books section in Cheners Bookshop!
Sue replied to Sue's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Now she can yank all the kids' books out instead :) -
I popped into Cheners Books in Lordship Lane (near Goose Green) today and was delighted to see a lovely airy room at the back of the shop has been converted into a space for all the children's books. It looks great and it's much easier to find things now and browse through the books. Also they have many of my old childhood favourites :)

Thanks Admin, you're a star :) Please everybody come to the fundraising day, hear lots of great music for practically nothing, buy raffle tickets to have a chance to win lots of great prizes, AND help your new local community garden at the same time! Win-Win all round :) And if you'd like to read the thread which tells you about the sealed bid auction for kindly donated items worth ?940 and ?450 Please click here!

My small brown bin wasn't emptied for the second week running yesterday. I only have a small green bag of food waste each week, but if the brown bin isn't emptied next week either then it will be full. But I'm losing the will to live with keep contacting the council re recycling issues (apologies for grammar) :))

Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > M&S and a well linked tube line have done little > to gentrify Brixton beyond what already Had taken > place in the preceding 20 odd years. xxxxxx Brixton has had an M&S in exactly the same location as it is now since at least the mid-sixties and probably earlier. And the new "Brixton Village" in the market, I would suggest, has gentrified Brixton out of all recognition over the past year. I was there on Saturday and I was astonished at the changes. -
Just wanting to get this day known by as many people as possible, so we can raise as much money for the community garden as possible :) Do come and bring your children - it will be a great day! And one of the sealed-bid auction items is a year's family membership at Hamlets Health Club - worth ?1000!!!!
-
They have been moved to the "for sale" section :-S So just in case anybody should read this thread but not be looking to buy anything, here's what they said: Raffle thread: As part of the fundraising day this Sunday 22 January (see the links below if you don't know about it) there will be a fabulous raffle! Tickets will be available at only a pound for a strip of five - and the tickets will be separated when the raffle is drawn, so for a pound you will have five chances to win these fantastic prizes kindly donated mainly by local businesses and residents. Prizes include a ?40 voucher to spend at The Actress, a box of goodies from SMBS and a voucher for any pair of men's, women's or children's shoes from any Central London branch of Camper Shoes. For a full list of the prizes so far confirmed, please see the attached list! The raffle will be drawn at 6.45pm before our headliner Wizz Jones plays. Sealed Bids Auction Thread To help raise money to fund the new Dulwich Community Garden, a Sealed Bids Auction will be held at the fundraising day on Sunday 22 January (see the link below). There are two fabulous things being auctioned: A year's family membership to Hamlets Health Club, WORTH ?1000 and A bespoke metalwork gate, mirror or sculpture WORTH UP TO ?450 by Heather Burrell, the talented local resident who designed the beautiful metalwork gates in North Cross Road, including at the back of The Palmerston. Click here to see more of Heather's work! If you would like to bid for one of these items but you aren't able to attend the fundraiser (see the link below) please PM me with your bid and contact details, saying which item you are bidding for, and I will arrange for your bid to be entered into the auction. Bids will be opened at 9pm on Sunday night, and the winners announced. Click here for information about the fundraising day at which the bids will be opened Edited to change the value of the health club prize, which I had understated, sorry! And to add how grateful we are to both the very generous donors :)
-
Just trying to get as many people as possible to see this, as apparently the thread can't be moved back to it original section :-S Edited to add: And we'd also like to say thank you to all the very generous donors of the raffle prizes.

LaffBorough, the church this thread relates to is in fact - a church. In a church building.
