I went for blood tests this morning, armed with a book as I thought I'd have to wait for ages. I got there at just after 8am and the place was empty. I got to go straight in. The staff were all saying it must be people still recovering from the holidays and loath to venture out! I had a woman who fits your description,, Peckham Rose, and she was extremely friendly and pleasant and it didn't hurt at all, she was very gentle. I think you must have been unlucky. ETA: I had intended to get there about 7.15am as they start doing the tests at 7.30am and I thought the earlier I was there the greatest chance of being first in the queue and not having to wait. However as usual I dilly dallyed about so got there much later than I intended - however luckily it didn't matter to me as I'm no longer working. Maybe if you phoned them they could tell you the best time to go to have the best chance of being seen quickly? But I'm sure it must change a bit from day to day ..... they were certainly expecting more people there this morning than - er - virtually nobody! Another two people turned up, one just after me and one as I was leaving, and they were also both seen straight away.

Barbara Hepworth sculpture in Dulwich Park missing?

That's why I did several the same. But > thanks. > > Trevor xxxxxx If you click on "reply by private message" under the post you want to answer, you can send the same message to several different people without everybody else seeing it on the thread - it's the third option from the left on the "options" bar. Forums are a nightmare sometimes, they're all different in how they work. -

Another good GP leaving Melbourne Grove Practice?

Can't believe anything > they say. xxxxxxxx Having spent virtually the whole day updating the Goose website and still nowhere near finished, I would say they probably just haven't had time to update it. Not defending them, just saying that it's the kind of thing which probably isn't top of their admin people's list of priorities. -
What is Coin Star, does it just change small change, as it were? Because if so, I save up all mine until I've got zillions of pounds' worth and then take it to my bank in Lordship Lane who've always been happy to change it for notes provided I bag it up properly so they just have to weigh it. They've never charged me for doing that. If not, just ignore this post :))

Would you not be better posting this on the existing thread about Dr Gupta?

Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Waitrose don't have a single store within the SE > London postcode district, so they're certainly not > on every high street (not around these parts > anyway). xxxxxx Where did anybody say that they were on "every" high street? Obviously they are not :) -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Ah! A layby would be a good idea, to be able to drop people off at the station - is that what it would be for? It's always a pain having to try to stop near the station (illegally I guess) and shove people/luggage out of the car as quickly as possible so as not to hold up traffic ..... -
Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?

johnhinton Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- I don't enjoy shopping in > iceland or the coop, sainsburys or tescos or the > independent grocers and delis. xxxxxxxx What does Waitrose sell that you can't get in any of those places??? Or is it the shopping experience itself that you find better in Waitrose than anywhere else?? And if so, why? I'm genuinely interested :) -

There's another recent thread about this on the forum somewhere ..... -
I suspect Southwark Council's financial priorities at the moment do not include employing Town Centre Managers if they don't already have them, but hey I could be wrong :)

Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?

woodrot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There are about 15 shops I would happlity see > demolished to make way for a Waitrose. Or the site > just left derelict as a warning to those who > beleive that cupcakes, designer babay wear and > cookwank are a new retailing paradigm for SE22. xxxxxxx So you'd like to see the independent shops which make Lordship Lane such a pleasure to walk down replaced by a Waitrose to make it look just the same as many other high streets in London? And you'd like to see all those independent shops put out of business, with all the personal misery that entails, so that a large company can open yet another supermarket? If local people did not want what they are selling, the little shops would not still be here, regardless of what you may think of them :) -
Happy New Year from me too. :)

Very sorry to hear this. Alan M, that's a lovely quote from The Prophet.

You have to wonder (well, I do) why Starryeyes felt the need to register and post on this forum solely it seems to have a go at Dr Gupta and the DMC - and to say things which almost certainly are not true.
-
I believe there used to be a man who lived in Southwark Park (I think it was Southwark Park) for years in some sort of make-shift accommodation in an out-of-the-way spot, but he eventually got chucked out :-S
-
I saw Dr Gupta just last week. I didn't ask for a particular GP, he just happened to be the GP I saw when I went. Starryeyes, what on earth are you talking about, "weeks of trying to get an appointment"? You can almost always get an appointment at DMC the same day if you go first thing in the morning. And if you can't get there first thing, you can certainly get an appointment quite soon.

We saw this tarp quite a while ago, must have been November, didn't think anything of it at the time.

Put in food/plant material recycling bin? Or, in bin bag in non-recyclable bin? Or, phone local vet and ask if they have disposal service?
