I don't mind the lettuce being served undressed, I can see some people don't like dressing, but a mention that dressing was available would have been nice rather than my having to go in search of it :) But I do wish them well, hopefully these are just teething problems.

Ooops sorry, it was the bit about "redirecting this thread" that threw me, forgot you had started the thread though, duh :-$ Now I'll just crawl away and get back to work ... :)) andypandy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I know, I started the thread - I meant not > re-direct the whole thread rather than the > comments that were going into what the best curry > house in ED is .. Anyone else tried this place? Went in yesterday. The juice and coffee were both excellent. My salad sadly wasn't, but just wondered what others thought as maybe it's just my tastebuds which don't think crab and olives are a happy mix - except they weren't mixed, all the ingredients were arranged in separate piles on the plate, including green olives (with stones) in a bowl and black olives in another bowl, with a pile of undressed lettuce leaves at one side (I had to go in search of dressing as it wasn't offered). Then there was another little pile of sundried tomatoes, a pile of cherry tomatoes (well, a tiny pile) and a pile of avocado (at the second attempt). I think there might have been a bit of grated carrot but my memory is not too good and this certainly wasn't memorable. The crab was plentiful and excellent, but the rest - is this the trend for salads and it has somehow passed me by? Maybe I should have had something else - I like the vibe of the place and will go back, but not to have a crab and avocado salad! Edited to say: I've just googled crab and olives and have turned up one or two recipes, so maybe it's just me - I love them both but not together :-$

Having eaten there recently I'm not surprised. Underwhelming is how I'd describe my Sag Prawn. -
Has anybody noticed a sudden influx of entirely fictitious bands and songs in this thread?? I blame FlapJackDavey, he started it :))

There is no other way to do that (so far as I'm aware) than to get a certificate of postage stamped by a member of Post Office staff. I also needed a form to apply for a freedom pass "for older people", AAARRRGGGHHHHH :)) though possibly it would have been downloadable off the internet, however as I was going to the PO anyway I got it there ....

Edited to say: Several grammatical mistakes there, sorry, but can't be arsed to work out what it should all be :-$

I can understand a queue on Monday morning, or Saturday, or before Christmas - but a queue right out into the street at 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon? I had to wait over twenty minutes to be served, and at one point the queue wasn't moving at all, just one customer at the counter and all the staff just sort of looking at each other. Anybody know why? Have they got a staffing problem or do they just not care?

I hope it's not breeding outside my front door....... I don't usually mind spiders, but this one was really very spooky, particularly as it was white all over, body and legs .......

HEY! TheePope! That's the spider I saw the other day and posted about on this thread! Is it really called a White Death Crab Spider?

Nor me. I think they add to the character of the area and are a bit of fun. Seriously :)

The buses seemed to get a lot better for a while, then they got very much worse again (edited to say, after Boris took over, though that may be coincidence). In the morning, I go to a stop before the one most convenient for me, just so that I've got more chance of a bus stopping at the stop and then being able to get on it. But I do feel sorry for the people at the stops it then sails past. I feel another letter to Tessa coming on :-$

Update on 549 lordship lane (Concrete House)
Sue replied to bob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes I agree with Louisa and Bob, but hey, what is proposed is better than many of the other possible options and at least a unique building will be staying in ED. -
I like these vans! Except I thought it was one van which moved about a bit. It's a red letter day when I spot one :)
