  4. "gutting it out" Must put that in my commonplace book.
  5. I'm changing my nationality. I think green and white would suit my complexion, Pakistan here I come.
  6. I seem to recall (from years' ago) that one cannot be charged more than 18 months retrospectively. Try googling to see if that still applies.

  12. I second the coffee - very good. And the free limoncello was very welcome too!
  13. Should you go for apothecary jars, I have recipes for the coloured liquids inside (eg, for red: dissolve one dram iodine in one pint water and add 2 oz hydrochloric acid). Could keep you amused for hours.
  14. "That's pretty close to Carluccio's version (sans milk). Therefore i'm claiming some sort of moral Italian food high ground and declaring myself the winner (of something....not sure what)." Not so fast, Titch Juicy! I followed La Regina's recipe exactly. I think you'll find that makes me the only authentic Italian in town.
  15. I made Anna Del Conte's ragu recipe yesterday, which uses tomato puree and milk. (And wine of course - and we all know opened wine doesn't keep so must be finished off pronto). It's a more intense flavour than normal tomato based bolognese sauce. However, if I were making a lasagne, I'd prefer the wetter/tomato option.
  16. Watching Nicola Walker on tv. She has become my Pash. No. 1.
  17. You could build a Spitfire.
  18. No, but I have a cigarette holder you could borrow.
  19. I watched a James Martin Christmas cookery programme yesterday: he was balling carrots and courgettes for his beef consomm?.* *Not sure how that is Christmassy but there you go.
  20. Just what I was thinking, Jah. ATYD came on the radio yesterday, must have been an omen.
