    Paul Farmer, the CE of Mind, commented on Radio London today, that in certain circumstances - when changing rooms are used for other activities (he alluded to drug taking and sexual intercourse) - it is right for the manager to check, however there should be a balance. If a customer is in a cubicle for a longer than average time, it is a little hard for the manager to guess what is going on without looking.

    Could I just comment, before this witch hunt goes much further, that I have always found Steve to be charming and helpful. He was also very encouraging to my daughter when she worked at the shop for her Duke of Edinburgh award. That doesn't denigrate what happened to localmamma and that issue clearly needs to be dealt with, but I am very perturbed by the total slur on his character that has gone on in these pages.

    Chipping is carried out for free by places like Celia Hammond and Blue Cross, and TJMP regularly advises on this forum when free chipping events occur.

    I think a chip and a licence and compulsory leash on public roads are reasonable, the rest would be hard to enforce. It was never a big deal to have a dog licence in the past.

    One curious byproduct of the match this afternoon: I was listening to it on Radio Scotland and left it on that station - have been listening to pipe music this evening - strangely calming. Makes me yearn for a scotch however. Must resist.
