  1. Reasonably reduced. Chap helping out his mum to sell stock - not sure what will happen to her, quite sad.
  2. Well I've heard some euphemisms in my time ...
  3. Apparently someone was knocked over - potentially quite serious (blood from ears). The lorry/police car is not serious. Police were getting buses, lorries to turn round when a police car backed into the lorry. No one hurt in that part - just red-faced police!
  4. The crossroads has been closed in all directions due to an accident. Police are diverting traffic, best to avoid in a quarter mile radius.
  5. Oh that has cheered me up!
  6. How stupid can thieves be? The plastic that was covering my window was removed and the glove compartment searched this morning. Do they honestly think I'd leave anything worth nicking in an open car? PS: Had good result on EBAY, have replacement window for ?12.50 arriving in next week. Far cheaper than online breakers yards quoted me.
  7. You don't need tutorly lessons, *bob*; learn from Brum. A pithy exit line will make hearts & minds swoon.
  8. Extend your walk to Lidl in Peckham. I went to a blind wine tasting a couple of months' ago - we each had to bring a bottle and cover the label. My contribution came second and was a Shiraz that cost ?3.49 at Lidl!
  9. It's almost over - get back to the muse, Ted.
  10. Madness back catalogue
  11. Why do blokes get offered ?300 and gals only ?80?
  12. Snakes & Ladders anyone?
  13. Amen to that! [that was to Casey Jones, BTW, another post snuck in]
  14. Bike shop seems to be doing really well. They are trying to get permission to move into the old loo block on Peckham Rye because they need more space.
  15. Without thinking about it, I immediately thought Warne and Lara. But as the article says, the last 10 years wasn't their finest hour. In the interests of fairness, I voted for Glen McGrath cos I've had a pash on him for years. How's that for considered, intellectual process?
  16. I think it's absurd. He's arguably the busiest chap in the kingdom yet he still makes time to handwrite letters of condolence - a rather touching measure of the man (albeit we politically poles apart).
  17. Sorry, t_in_sox - it was way past my bedtime!
  18. I think that's somewhat unfair to Brendan, t_in_sox. I may not always agree with him, but he's a very genuine chap and something heartfelt should not be derided. (Unless it's on the cricket thread where it's mandatory.)
  19. Very handsome!
  20. Brendan, unless you're going in for Miss World, it doesn't really need saying.
  21. No it won't. Where will I get the strawberry laces which I festoon my tree with? Not to mention the bag of gold coins.
  22. I do hope they will have the illustration they use on this forum.
  23. In the church I attended this morning, there were testimonies from two young lads in The Rifles who'd just come back from Afghanistan. They were very moving and one of the men broke down when he described how his friend was blown up just a couple of days ago. Not ashamed to say I blubbed. A while later, after he'd recovered himself, he came back to say that the chaps really appreciate receiving shoe boxes with things like deodorant, shampoo, chocs, etc in. He will let me have the address (free post I think) and I'll post it up here when I get it.
