  1. That's a slightly silly assertion, Huggers. How could you possibly know? According to 2001 Diocese of Southwark Census: St Barnabas (total pop. 5632) - 368 people on Electoral Roll St John's (total pop. 9598) - 224 people on Electoral Roll. While not everyone who attends church is on the E. Roll, it is a fairly good indication of numbers/ratios. [yes, I'm bad tempered and bored this morning!]
  2. Am I fucking invisible?
  3. Golly, young man! Can't wait to see how Jah will interpret that. PS: do take care - do you know what season it is in Blighty? You don't want to end up with a backside full of shot from a myopic hunter.
  4. Brendan, I'm feeling overwhelmed. Please come to mine with your duster, I shall supply the vacuum cleaner.
  5. Oh Ted, I fear my wit is running at less than 50% today. Tell me a tale to cheer me up.
  6. To clarify, the "same here" was to the above post - it had just thudded on the mat.
  7. The Three Bells - The Browns [The seven seas will be fine, as long as we can splice the main brace at frequent intervals. Beware psittacosis!]
  8. Boudicca's death on Peckham Rye is a much better legend!
  9. Mister Moonlight - Beatles
  10. Why should they aspire to change a tyre? Surely they are hoping for world peace!
  11. Same here. Though someone like to point out to the delivery bod that two bins, two bells, Flat A & Flat B markings might be a bit of clue that two copies would have been good.
  12. Best.
  13. discover Nunhead Cemetery and pick some blackberries to go with your PIE.
  14. [@ Mick - I compounded what I started in the Gowlett with cheap red plonk]
  15. I wot - Nero was on the sauce when the post was made!
  16. I think it's a valid comparison - taking a life, whatever the reasoning, is taking a life.* *If one holds the view that all human life is sacred. [i'm desperately trying to find the previous thread on this cos I can't be bothered to spout it all again, but am having no luck with search function at mo.] [ps, apologies to Hugenot for above impertinent post - it was made after Forum drinks!]
  17. Because three threads were started yesterday on the same subject. Only one is needed.
  18. Oh, oh, oh, it's magic! - Pilot [i don't know, get a girl excited about Pinky & Perky and then nothing!]
  19. I was just being snotty - I had a severe hangover this morning. BTW, in the Church of England, priests are entitled to six weeks off (in addition to statutory hols) after seven years', and three months after 14 years' service.
  20. Click on the icon that has two mountains and a sun - follow the instructions that pop up. The icons appear above the 'post a message' box that you type in. Not sure about red new thing - perhaps if you are the author it doesn't show on your computer.
  21. The magic number is seven - not five or six!
  22. Och - have it on me for your birthday! Good to meet you at last.
  23. HB MM
  24. Here's a snob post: If I was paid 125K p/a, I think I'd make sure I knew what sabbatical meant before using the word.
