  1. Try Mattressman online. I have antique beds that need special sizes which this company do. Agree with spending a lot on a mattress, definitely worth it for the back. The website is a bit naff, but the mattresses and service are very good. http://www.mattressman.co.uk/mattressguide.aspx
  2. If I have too much to burn, I soak it in a bucket overnight, then drain and wring the paper. If it's already been shredded/torn small, the papier mache effect will be fraud-proof. You could use the bath if you have huge quantities. It helps in that I just tear off identifying addresses/paragraphs. The rest goes into normal paper waste. If that seems too much, I think the tip off the Old Kent Road is most likely to have what you want.
  3. That would be a yes!
  4. Too soon to celebrate?
  5. Anyone going widdershins has to be a little bit dodgy.
  6. Wot Ginster said. Nice to see the Council apply commonsense.
  7. Yup. Real cricket that is.
  8. Co-op own brand. Good, thick juice, lovely flavour.
  9. Just an historic point: "The Flounce" was perfected by Brendan some years ago. I don't think it's intended to be a term of bullying. ps: he was always a dodgy geezer, so I expect he killed X-X.
  10. Unless you lifted up the shirt and peeked, how do you know it's not a real shirt and jumper?
  11. I need glasses. I just read that as "dodgy playmates sought..."
  12. I take back everything I've said about Harriet Harman. She is now electioneering in a pink "Woman to Woman" van. Of course I'll vote for her on that basis.
  13. I think it's best not to have a tree by the petrol station - with bus queues and pedestrian traffic, it is not very practical. I agree, however, that it needs to be filled in.
  14. That was very moving and a kick up the bum to appreciate and love more.
  15. Sorry to hear that Bailey84. Not sure running after him was the wisest thing to do, but shock makes us do unpredictable things. Shouting is always good, especially 'Fire!' which apparently has the most response rate from passers-by. It is boring, but you should report this to the police, often low-key assaults* lead to greater crimes. *I'm not belittling your experience - I hope you know what I mean. You are right that it is appalling that this happened, you can't really do any more than stick to well-lit areas and mentally plan ahead for possible scenarios.
  16. Thank you, Mick Mac. I'm just going for a walk now, I may be some time.* *Can't bear to be near a TV or radio - I know it's going to end badly.
  17. Or David Essex.
  18. I'll hold you to that!
  19. As I recall, you didn't accept my bet. But since Celtic will probably thrash Rangers, I'm pretty relieved. I'm sure Mr Madden is a very pleasant chap, and completely disinterested!
  20. For people, East Lane off the Walworth Road is brilliant.
  21. "I must be a unitary clique." As long as you're not a unitarian clique, for then you'd be a sect, which is a whole new thread. Then again, perhaps we need more sects on the EDF. Edited to include bad pun.
  22. Make Zenoria one way towards LLane, and encourage drivers to use Melbourne Grove, with traffic lights if necessary onto Dulwich Grove. Surely pedestrian safety has priority over a few minutes for a car driver?
  23. Surely the easiest/cheapest thing to do would be to ban right turns from Lordship Lane into Dulwich Grove except for buses. The near misses I have had/seen, all come from cars speeding right to buck the traffic lights.
