  1. I don't give a hoot. I have the family recipes for Mince and Tatties, Stovies and Tablet. Rangers are fucked - what else matters?
  2. James, not sure if this is in your remit but have the street cleaners/robot operators gone on strike? Lordship Lane hasn't been cleaned for a week now. Once upon a time, not so long ago, it was very ably serviced every day by the lovely Jenny or delightful Wesley, now nada. Not even the mechanical contraption has been around. To my knowledge business rates and domestic council tax haven't been reduced, so why has the standard of service?
  3. How to remove U2 (just from phones, unfortunately) http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/29157217
  4. Burgess Park lake, but it's quite a steep bank - you have to hoik the dog out afterwards. Had a great experience there with a Labrador who naturally jumped in, followed by a competitive but water-phobic Doberman!
  5. If you haven't made it to "Frank's Campari Bar" yet, you can see the magnificent views from the top of the car park on the tv programme "So you think you can drive" at 53 minutes in.
  6. Considering the numbers, it was pretty good although extra staff would have helped, especially the poor woman running the hot dog stall on her own. Second half was exciting, family atmosphere fantastic and free sarnies at the end were delicious and a bonus.
  7. No, she went of her own accord. Boom, tish!
  8. Most shops have a trolley. I borrowed one from my local convenience store to shift a washing machine.
  9. This thread may help you. It mentions the war memorial in Lordship Lane and refers to a memorial plaque in St Giles, Camberwell. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,23050,785254#msg-785254
  10. I did. The wee one is very bonny.
  11. Well done, Emil. That is rather funny.
  12. Dancing the Gay Gordons at work with randomish Scottish bloke.
  13. "kindle jobbie" Come the Revolution ...
  14. Bugger, bugger, bugger. Where's Geoff's mum and her stick of rhubarb when you really need her? Or couldn't it rain - it's an English summer! I reckon Cook and Prior will soon be off.
  15. Something to lighten the last day (goodness knows we need something): http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/relationships/fatherhood/10971098/My-wife-is-due-to-give-birth-today-on-the-first-day-of-Lords.-What-do-I-do.html#disqus_thread
  16. Alan, it is so there is time between matches to repair and maintain pitches. Also, they may be formulated for different bowling conditions, so depending on your team, weather, drainage, etc, you can prepare one that favours the home team's strengths.
  17. Wonderful cricket. The tail enders of both sides have really carried this game.
  18. According the the glossy newsletter, there is an "Edgar Karl Way". Nice to see they are in touch with their historic roots.
  19. Remake 'Escape to Victory'? Can't believe noone else has picked up on this travesty. Who will be Pele?
  20. A little aside (with reference to Cote D'Ivoire, Holland, etc): If Scotland win their independence, will we be known as the Disunited Kingdom?
  21. Cricket really is too heart attack-inducing. Great finish to Sri Lanka.
  22. Wow. Thought their keeper was excellent. Cahill was pretty dammned good. Curse Suarez, bless Rooney.
  23. Run, ASP, run for the hills.
  24. "I'm tempted by anything with Clemence Posey in it." Didn't have you down as a Harry Potter fan, D_C. I loved The Returned. Seriously creepy, which I don't do but was hooked before I realised it was seriously creepy.
