  1. I don't have a coy bone in my body: Brickhouse Bakery is the rumour (from a pretty good source).
  2. One of the best typos, RPC!
  3. mrsetc: I watch Gotham - ok piece of fluff. Sean Pertwee is definitely the best thing in it. And The Penguin should be MID. My new guilty pleasure is Scorpion.
  4. I didn't just mean motor traffic - there is an excess of all modes of transport at present and I don't think the road (Adys) copes very well with it (eg, look at the thread with the knocked down bollard). If it is to become a particular highlight for cyclists, then I think extreme measures should be taken. Block off the road to motors at the south end of the school, There is precedent for this with the road next to Harris Boys. Not sure of the solution for CPR which seems quite a narrow road. I suspect proposing parking on one side only wouldn't go down too well. Anyhow, back to the thread. I hope Balfes survives, they are a nice bunch of people, though I confess I have been using Wilsons for over 20 years!
  5. And if you have dormice and roosting bats, you are sorted!
  6. CPR and Adys Road are already a nightmare in terms of traffic rat runs. This proposal ain't going to help matters.
  7. @MickMac: fancy ?10 on it?
  8. Well that explains red lemondade!
  9. I'm with DaveR, I think Balfes have been a great addition to that parade - hope they can survive.
  10. Car Breakers in Deptford is the one my mechanic recommends.
  11. That's spooky, Jah, I spent the the other night listening to Shangrilas originals and covers. Hated the Jeff Beck/Imelda May thing (rather thought Beck overplayed). Aerosmith cover is much better. Can't think of an actual contribution to this thread at the moment.
  12. I rather enjoyed Our Girl. But to die on West Ham pitch is the pits.
  13. I'll see your two and raise you a little bit of my youth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHb60K2RLx0
  14. Just for you Seabag http://www.nisbets.co.uk/2/Clothing,-Aprons-and-Footwear-Chefs-Clothing/c04c02.r10.1
  15. Sorry, I'd never heard of them so it meant nothing to me. Have just googled them. My life will be enriched.
  16. Norfolk Jacket. A small chain of hunting shops.
  17. Had a lovely Roast Sunday yesterday: friends round for beef, braised red cabbage, roasted pots and carrots, peas, and the most delicious gravy (thanks Jamie O.) Only downside was I'd cheated on the Yorkshire puds and forgot they were in the fridge. Then went to other friends for supper which was roast chicken, blow-your-socks-off chilli stuffing and all the usual trimmings. Absolutely stuffed but a wonderful day of good food and friends and family, and not a little wine.
  18. I'm guessing that "last bloke" is what you meant to type - though your version is funnier.
  19. Isn't perception weird? I heard him on R4 and thought he was a slimy git. However, I'd be more inclined to believe Allan Lamb who was also quoted.
  20. I've seen her on The Lane (Saarf London coolspeak). She is very pretty and petite in real life, no comparison to the drag queens I've seen. A deoch and doris is far more interesting.
  21. At the risk of siding with the tin foil brigade, I too suffer from plane noise - especially v. early am. But then I see cyclists riding on the pavement everyday which noone else seems to.
  22. Word on ED Deli is it is to become a Cook shop, but since they have one nearby in West Dulwich, I think there's mischief in my aviary.
  23. I DEFO had a coffee and pain au raisin there yesterday. V. nice and lovely staff.
