  1. You are all wrong. It's "Good Morning Mr Magpie" x 3, then turn around and spit on the ground. Very ladylike.
  2. But marshmallows did originate from the mallow plant, though whether they grew in marshes, I have no idea.
  3. That's what kind neighbours are for, worldwiser. Jeremy, you may well find that one of yours put the bins back - no need to be so cynical.
  4. That's nice for you. My best one was half a mouse and two embryos.
  5. The card shop in North Cross Road usually stock them.
  6. Can't remember the name, but the first garage under the arches as you drive down Blenheim Grove in Peckham (from Bellenden Rd). Also, the chap opposite the corner gift shop in Bellenden Rd (the one with the art deco stuff above its door) - he's by a post box. Both are reasonably reasonable.
  7. James, I heard that a lady was run over crossing E.Dulwich Grove yesterday (broken leg, I believe). You kindly invited me to join an observation group when I expressed concerns about pedestrian safety sometime ago, but I haven't heard anything since.
  8. My one beef with F&Herd is that they don't do unsmoked streaky bacon. I don't like back either.
  9. Third what Otta said. Sorry for your loss.
  10. Does no-one read the bloody Highway Code? It covers parking in the direction of traffic and checking mirrors before opening the door.
  11. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2825920/Is-5-lobster-worth-shelling-height-luxury-global-lobster-glut-means-s-cheap-chips.html Lidl beats Iceland - they are both rated over Waitrose
  12. Al the knobhead car drivers who drive around on fog lights!
  13. I don't have a coy bone in my body: Brickhouse Bakery is the rumour (from a pretty good source).
  14. One of the best typos, RPC!
  15. mrsetc: I watch Gotham - ok piece of fluff. Sean Pertwee is definitely the best thing in it. And The Penguin should be MID. My new guilty pleasure is Scorpion.
  16. I didn't just mean motor traffic - there is an excess of all modes of transport at present and I don't think the road (Adys) copes very well with it (eg, look at the thread with the knocked down bollard). If it is to become a particular highlight for cyclists, then I think extreme measures should be taken. Block off the road to motors at the south end of the school, There is precedent for this with the road next to Harris Boys. Not sure of the solution for CPR which seems quite a narrow road. I suspect proposing parking on one side only wouldn't go down too well. Anyhow, back to the thread. I hope Balfes survives, they are a nice bunch of people, though I confess I have been using Wilsons for over 20 years!
  17. And if you have dormice and roosting bats, you are sorted!
  18. CPR and Adys Road are already a nightmare in terms of traffic rat runs. This proposal ain't going to help matters.
  19. @MickMac: fancy ?10 on it?
  20. Well that explains red lemondade!
  21. I'm with DaveR, I think Balfes have been a great addition to that parade - hope they can survive.
  22. Car Breakers in Deptford is the one my mechanic recommends.
  23. That's spooky, Jah, I spent the the other night listening to Shangrilas originals and covers. Hated the Jeff Beck/Imelda May thing (rather thought Beck overplayed). Aerosmith cover is much better. Can't think of an actual contribution to this thread at the moment.
