  1. The Beiderbecke Affair. Gentle comedy of yesteryear. Watched the first episode last night and forgotten how delicious it was.
  2. For those of you still havering, here's The Telegraph's reasons to watch. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/5062437/Why-The-Wire-is-unmissable-television.html (sorry URL link not working, you'll have to cut & paste)
  3. Lily the Pink - The Scaffold
  4. Under the Moon of Love - Showaddywaddy
  5. The Combine Harvester - The Wurzels
  6. Don't waste your money Ted, I think Act of Settlement will come first.
  7. There seem to be an awful lot of clerical references this year. Maybe disestablishment is round the corner?
  8. Lazy Days - Moody Blues
  9. Sorry charlies, I think cavaliers are so much more dashing.
  10. Well I sure ain't going for claret and blue!
  11. I'm backing the beautiful grey in the pretty pink silks.
  12. How charming to see that handwritten topping and tailing still goes on.
  13. Forget giving up the cars. Looks like we'll have to go vegetarian: While the Irish Republic and Denmark forge ahead with plans to introduce a "flatulence tax" on cattle ? much to the disgust of farmers in both countries ? UK farmers are bracing themselves for a similar move. According to the United Nation's Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), livestock is responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gas emissions that are thought to contribute to climate change. A cow emits as much as four tons of methane each year through burps and farts compared to 2.7 tons of carbon dioxide emitted by the average car. The mooted tax of ?75 per cow would decimate the UK beef and dairy industry, which is already under strain from cheap milk and meat imports. Farmers, however, are being encouraged to experiment with alternative diets to improve the digestive systems of their animals and stave off bovine flatulence ? and the accompanying tax.* *The Telegraph
  14. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
  15. Oh er, a real grizer.
  16. Is that the follow up to Ukranian Tractors?
  17. I'm so with you Huggers. It really pisses me off. It's bad for the wildlife and just attracts rats/foxes. Chips and cake and a whole box of puffed wheat have been recent offerings. Also, it can cause bloat in large dogs which could be fatal.
  18. Pass the salve, Hugenot.
  19. Don't be silly, the Juan Evelyn is well known.
  20. The houses down both sides of the Rye have been leafleted by the Council for objections. Providing none of them throw a paddy I think it will be a fun addition. But then it's not in my back yard, not sure how I'd feel if I lived nearer.
  21. I thought an ocelot was a submarine.
  22. Big Phil, no fair but an annual cake competition. Does that count?
  23. Surely Rodney should live in Peckham. I have a looking glass from Franklins that I persuaded my parents to buy for my 30th. Sooooo long ago.
  24. Sure it wasn't the lesser spotted aquacactus?
