Alas, my tahini paste must have died in the fridge a long time ago - I couldn't even chisel it out of the jar. NB: Don't use two cloves of garlic: my breath is like paint stripper now.

    Brockwell and Battersea are large parks. Taking a chunk from the Green makes a big difference.

    "...considering allowing..." From the activity in the park today, I'd say it was a done deal. I can't say I'm happy that a commercial enterprise is taking a huge chunk of the green for what will be weeks - it's not even December yet. Who buys trees this early? It's not like one day events for fetes and fairs.

    I believe there is a drop-in session about the CPZ at Amott Road Baptist Church this evening (3 Oct). The info was on a lamppost notice but I'm not sure about the details. Can anyone confirm?

    Not having it on TV does make a difference, I think. I'm working somewhere that I can't listen to TMS and can only snatch the odd glance at Guardian OBO which has the effect of making it less vital. Also no-one at work understands or likes the game. I am in cricket purdah. I think it is safe to say (notwithstanding the world cup) that we are deep in underdog territory.

    I don't agree but it's your call. The ones I've seen locally look rather smart. I didn't do it with mine so have to stand on a chair if I need to look out; if I were to do it again, I would add the gap. This website has some examples. They also do mirror film so you can see out but just offers a reflection for passersby. https://www.purlfrost.com/privacy-window-film/

    You could use privacy film with an inch gap all the way round. That way you can peek out but a casual passerby can't really see in.
