  1. Take heart people. We were allocated our fifth choice initially. As the weeks went by No. 2 and then No. 1 made an offer.
  2. Ha! My evil Global Freezing scheme is working.
  3. After my betting streak earlier I don't think I'll risk it MM. "Neil Lennon has insisted that capturing silverware with Celtic is his top priority, rather than winning a personal Old Firm duel with Walter Smith." What's wrong with the man? It's all about OF Derby!
  4. Oh, so glad Narnia didn't read this thread. Well done Ireland - cracking finish. O'Brien was superb.
  5. Narnia - up for a little WM bet? Rather good opening over from our (their?) lads.
  6. There are some magnificent gorse bushes in full bloom on Ladlands/Dawsons Heights.
  7. I think university rooms are being rented out for cheaper options. Through the roof option may be a floating hotel - I think I read that two cruise ships are seeking permission to moor nearby for the duration. It doesn't bother me what anyone else chooses to do but I'm in the MM camp. Just not sure I can afford the tickets.
  8. I love my friends but do they have to come round during an epic match so I miss the end?
  9. Um Moos speak with um forked tongue. Not even a ghost of golden daffodils. Don't worry spotify - my dog's peed up most of them. That should sort the dilly down thiefs out.
  10. *stumbles into room for eye opener - crashes into a mildly reproving windsor chair* *stretches out arm, waiting for a drink to appear* *muses aloud: wonder if Dear Cathy & Claire have any advice for a hangover?*
  11. But I want Carnell and pistachio.
  12. If you're worried about the loss of language, you need to go to the Spidall outpost - Nunhead.
  13. My middle name is gullible. As dear CS Lewis wrote: There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.
  14. I'm not Jewish, but if anyone would like to invite me to a Shabbat supper, I'd love to attend. It sounds like a delightful tradition. Could swap you a Sunday roast!
  15. Second Earl best of a bad bunch probably.
  16. CWALD - RIP. In my best Juliet Stevenson voice: *I miss her, I miss her, I miss her!*
  17. From who/m? Never could work that one out.
  18. Can't help thinking Rye Park Adventure Playground (with veg growing area) plus the sensory trail in the park; and the Wildlife Centre, Marsden Road pretty much have those angles covered.
  19. halft term events organised by Southwark
  20. Rats, I missed the end of it - sounds exciting. Brendan, try moving the button over or invest in a pair of braces* - they'll be sartorially apit in Surrey. Just don't go for a cravat for another 12 years or so. *a brace of braces?
  21. No he's going to Narnia to bunk up with Declan.
  22. you might want to leave the blue bunting out.
  23. MP, that would be low.
