  1. Surely they should tell you where you are on the list so you can plan accordingly! It's really wrong if they don't!
  2. Jenni Hird at Six Physio (Monument) is truly excellent. Can't recommend her enough.
  3. I tell mine that if she does not brush her teeth they will all fall out and she'll much less pretty...
  4. My little family has joined the Gardens. Best thing we've done. My phone call last week was answered within two rings and I got an appointment within days. When a surgery does not take too many patients and employs enough GPs, it works!
  5. Salvia, I know exactly what you mean by the uncomfortable feeling. Kegels and toner really helped with it within 3-4weeks I would say so do not despair. It's all about getting acquainted with your body as it is now and learn how to live with it and protect our pelvic floor. Slowly reintroducing exercise like supergolden and seeing what works. One thing to bear is mind is to engage your pelvic floor when exercising. This should help a lot.
  6. Having a good physio really helps. Not just for the kegel exercises but also for advice re: what to do or not. going back next week to see what I am doing that's so wrong on the cross trainer for example. To me, body pump sounds like the worst thing you can do with a prolapse. I am convinced it's bad any way. We were never designed to do so many squats with large weights on our shoulders, a few maybe but not endless repetitions. The toners do work but you should really have a proper examination before starting. Comments from GP that it is quite Common and not life threatening are really annoying! Happy to share physio's contact details.
  7. Could the Harris Academy not take it over? Problem solved! :-) Just kidding... Or not!
  8. And mine is coming back after just a few sessions on the cross trainer! Going back to physio next week. :-(
  9. My 21st was spent in a club in Central London. Don't think I had even heard of East Dulwich then.
  10. Could it be due to engineering works? I heard something to that effect this morning but I might not have understood properly. Oh dear.
  11. I overheard staff at Peckham Rye saying how surprised they were people were turning up and "what did we expect?" Errrr.... trinas perhaps?????
  12. caroandcj Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "in my viewe the arrival of academies in Southwark has > forced all the schools to up their game becuase of > the great results the academies have achieved." I could not agree more. ED primaries are good but we don't have outstanding schools, the likes of Fairlawn in Lewisham for example. Time to up the game!
  13. We are keeping to one because we just about manage work wise and financially... Truth is we would probably make do with a second one - just about - but having just the one feels safer. I do look at my daughter sometimes and think it would be great for her to have a sibling. However I am an only child and it's never really bothered me.
  14. Shouldn't you be working instead of posting, LocalTeacher?
  15. Hever Castle.
  16. The damp proofing industry is very dodgy. We saw lots of very unreliable people before coming across timberwise. They were great from start to finish! Www.timberwise.co.uk.
  17. Half a wife by gaby hinsliff is packed full of ideas for flexible working. I gave a few to our hr department... :-)
  18. Peckham Rose, I spoke to the PCT many times. They don't care!
  19. This working mums v stay at home mums debate is sterile. I wish we would concentrate more on how to change employers' attitude and give parents more flexibility. I would have told Vanessa if I had been at home listening to her show!
  20. If it's not urgent enough for A&E, what about the minor injury unit (although it does not sound minor!) at Thomas? If I were you I would look for another GP. Leaving DMC and registering with the Gardens has made a significant difference!
  21. I have two rare days off on Thursday and Friday and am looking for something arty to do with my three-year-old darling daughter. Does anyone know of any art drop in sessions out there? Thank you.
  22. I agree londonmix. I really regret not looking further afield than ed when we had our daughter. But it's good to see my local, Goodrich, on the up!
  23. If I am reading the results properly, 82% of Goodrich pupils now reach the required level in English and maths against 72% last year. That's a big jump. If that's right, well done Goodrich! http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/school.pl?urn=100790&superview=pri
  24. I would still try and look for someone who might be able to help you in the morning. You never know.
  25. We recently moved to the Gardens surgery from the Dulwich Medical Centre. A completely different experience. Phones are picked up quickly and getting an appointment is not a problem. Check their website to see if you are within their catchment.
