  1. The thing is that threads like this make people think that posters are anti-kids, when that's not the case at all. If I had young children I'd love the fact that I could take them to the pub. And I did take mine to the pub! However, there should be child free pubs for adults who don't want to be surrounded by children (me!), who like kids but would prefer to drink in a peaceful adult environment. So that everybody has the choice and everyone is happy.
  2. You won't get slated by me! I think it would be heaven on earth. And not just ED. At least one in every postcode.
  3. You'll never need to retire AM. According to opinion on another thread, forums are for us oldies! ;-)
  4. I can understand that in your age group Otta. I guess the late 40's/over 50's are too busy entertaining, socialising, doing chores or sleeping!
  5. As I said earlier regarding the EDF, I agree with what Jeremy said. I have this mental image of the regulars sitting at a desk (mostly in town, judging by their comments) browsing & posting all day long while working at the same time. Then again from ipads & mobiles during the journey home. I get the impression that it's more of a boredom thing as a lot of the regulars disappear at weekends. Bank holidays are even worse. They obviously have better things to do than post on here. Which is quite frustrating. I don't have an office job so when at work can only post briefly from my phone when my boss isn't looking! I tend to be able to say a lot more on days off, evenings and bank holidays. Sometimes the EDF is so dead at weekends, hours can go by with no-one posting in the lounge. It's a shame when you've got plenty of time to talk and nobody to talk to!
  6. No JL, I haven't. I've never been in The Man Of Kent so had no intention of posting on here. But if I see a post by someone else and get an uncontrollable urge to respond....... I just have to do it!

ETA: The top part of the post rather than the bottom, after what Otta said!

No, it would keep repeating itself like MrBen. He was the other main culprit that I was referring to earlier. I didn't mention his name because there was only one comment so I let it go. But back he came with another spiteful post.

Yes, at the time I knew because I read all her posts. I can't recall what was said now though. I do remember a witch hunt. So many posters in the general section that I've never even heard of, trying to get rid of her.

  15. Yes, I read it JL. And it wasn't just this thread or just Louisa I was referring to. It was threads in general, the picked on and the ones who get a buzz from picking. And the ones who don't care about others. It really isn't nice.

We all have our opinions and don't deserve to be ridiculed and treated like sh*t just because we think differently to others. It's not about being popular by posting crap that some will find funny, it's about posting thoughtfully and gaining respect by what you write. I respect so many people on here (including you!), even some that I don't get on with. But there are quite a few that I don't. Maybe they will see sense and change. I live in hope.
  17. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > aquarius moon Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > So why has nobody been to Peckham cinema? > > > > Why do you think nobody has been there? Is it because everyone in ED has always been so well off that they can afford to watch films in the West End? Or got giant TV's and Sky so they can watch films at home on demand? Or got their own private cinemas at the end of their gardens? Or are under the false impression that if SE22's mix with SE15, they'll never get out alive? I don't know Otta. I'm on a different wavelength. Tell me.
  18. So why has nobody been to Peckham cinema? I rarely go, but remember taking my daughter there years ago for an occasional treat. And if I did feel like seeing a film, that's the first place I'd choose to visit. Just to add, ridiculing, taking the p*ss, talking bollox just to get a laugh isn't cool and isn't clever. It's actually quite sad.
  19. Don't apologise Louisa. You're not at fault. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't be forced into starting new threads in The Lounge because you can't participate in the general section. I rarely post there either but get the occasional urge. And if you get the occasional urge, you should be allowed to do it.
  20. Isn't this just so stupid? You participate on a thread in the main section, then go to The Lounge and find that Louisa has started a 'Lounge Response' thread. So do you start the discussion again in the Lounge? Transfer your posts backwards & forwards? Ridiculous. What is the point of having two threads with the same topic? If Louisa has something to say, she should be able to say it wherever she chooses. And if it's the general section & they can't cope with a difference of opinion, they are the ones with a problem.
  21. NewWave, I so agree with you. mark88, very courageous of you to post here and what NewWave said, stay strong and God bless x rahrahrah, you did the right thing. It was nice of you to remove the posts.
  22. I enjoyed it Otta, so give it a go on iplayer. Don't get too excited as there are only 2 episodes so it ends next week (thurs 9pm BBC2)
  23. Did anything significant happen in the first half? I agree the 2nd half was good and easy to pick up but I wondered why Gemma Chan wasn't behaving! Might watch it online unless someone can enlighten me.
  24. What a heartless post. Unbelievable. If you bothered to read the post by mark88 properly you would know that he isn't recovering at all. But you are obviously too busy bickering with Loz & talking politics (yet again) I feel so sorry for you mark88. I do agree with you about the NHS and am pleased that you've been happy with the treatment you received.
