  2. The guy who serviced my bike adjusted something to stop the chain falling off (because something was too loose) I don't know what it was, or what he did but it worked perfectly and the chain hasn't come off since. I suggest you ask in one of the bike shops. Hopefully they will know what to do. It only took a few minutes.
  3. I haven't a clue either. I asked the guy who serviced my bike to put my gears on the right setting for what he thought I'd need....... And I never change them. Uphill, downhill, whatever. Don't dare in case I mess it up when it's working fine. Just looked and it's L on the left, 7 on the right. (which means nothing to me!)
  4. What is all this nonsense? I can't ever remember going for a picnic in any London park in the last 15 years without a bottle of wine. And looking around me, every picnic also had bottles of wine (or cans) because let's face it, how do you put up with a picnic in the park without alcohol? And take a look at Clapham Common in the summer. They have more bottles than food!
  5. The 'elite' - They have a sense of humour, are sensible, genuine, nice people. The ones you would choose to be friends with. The 'good but annoying' - They have a good heart but can't help posting to wind-up because it's fun to get a response and a light-hearted spat will pass the time. The 'wouldn't want to know them' - They must get a buzz out of making unpleasant comments or they wouldn't make a regular habit of it. And if they behave like this on a forum, why would you want to meet people in real life who are capable of such nastiness? The 'rude' - You speak to them on the forum by mentioning their name in posts and they ignore you. Posting and getting no response is fine, but if you address the post to someone, they don't answer and you just know they must have seen it? Plain rude. The 'rest' - who don't fit into any of the above categories. So..........What sort are you? Think about it.
  6. I don't even look at the amount of grams on coffee or jam.........or packets for that matter. All I know is that they've got much smaller.
  7. The Palace of Peace? Nature's Grace, Blue Aquarius, incense, vegetarian food, love & peace. Still sounds wonderful. If I'd lived in ED back then, I know where I'd have been spending my time.
  8. It sounds wonderful. What was it?
  9. I was just using dogs/cats/elephants as an example. Why stop at kangaroos and crocodile if there is no limit to what exotic animals can be used? I knew there would be hardly any of you who agree with me anyway. You never do, so I didn't post to change your opinion as I gave up doing that years ago. Somebody posted about the exotic range and I took the opportunity to say that personally I really don't care if it closes down because I don't shop there.
  10. So what next? Elephant? monkey? dogs & cats? If there's no limit to what can be killed for meat, more will be killed. And I'm hardly going to approve of that am I?
  11. Yes Jeremy, I am opposed to all meat but a new range just means more animals are being killed just to make money & satisfy an unecessary desire to try something different. Kangaroo, ostrich, crocodiles, buffalo to name a few that Iceland think is OK. What next? The leaflet turned my stomach, went straight in the bin and so did Iceland. Never again.

Which is why I refused to use Iceland again ( not that I ever went there very often) as soon as the leaflet came through my door advertising their new range of exotic animals.
  13. You must have liked that brilliant, clever dog?!
  14. 1) Welsh choir 2) Dogs The dogs were so good but the choir got my vote first time I heard them.
  15. Is anyone watching the Final? Foxy, we are supposed to be comparing notes........!
  16. If you really don't know the answer to that SLad......., I would go back to sleep.
  17. She has been clipped very recently so must have caring owners. Just be careful if anyone comes forward & you have suspicions that they don't know each other. Don't want to worry you, just be cautious when advertising you've found a female pedigree dog. I think you are amazing for helping her & wish you loads of luck in finding where she belongs x
  18. Hopefully she'll get a wild card.
  19. So if you're not a benefit scrounger? What if having 6 kids, not working, living with a man who doesn't work either is not the life for you. What if you work full-time in a low paid job & struggle to manage on a single wage supporting one child. Alone. Then what? Just wondered. There doesn't seem to be a lot in between. There are benefits for the poor, big pay cheques for the rich and nothing for those stuck in the middle.
  20. Well done for looking after her. I would also phone Battersea. If my dog went missing I'd phone them straight away to see if he'd been taken there. And have you tried dog lost? http://www.doglost.co.uk/ Good luck.
  21. Oh well....Was hoping Villa would play better and do their fans proud. It would be so nice to really care. Next year Swansea, Everton or Millwall. Can't wait :)
  22. Villas last manager didn't give a sh*t about the cup. Sherwood does, the fans do and Arsenal won last year. So I just can't help myself. No bets either. Just hoping!
  23. I do agree. That's what I would do if I had kittens. Unlikely though as I'd never let a cat outdoors. I did have an indoor cat once who was never able to kill everything in sight or cross the road in front of a car. But I don't particularly want to open a can of catfood with this thought either.
