  1. So Louisa and Keeky both drink petrol. Why didn't I think of that before? As soon as the alcohol runs out, I'll raid the cars in my road. And use it to wash down the fake fish & chips.
  2. Fish and chips. Nothing like it. Until you remember what it is. Fake fish and chips is so much better, tastes the same if you use your imagination, but the same smell? No.:(
  3. Are you still there Otta? I know it's a change of subject but it's about a tv programme.
  4. No, but nobody is going to take their dogs cycling with them unless they know how they'll react. I know how mine would react so never going to happen. Shame though. If they'd been into cycling from a young age they wouldn't now be suffering from middle age spread.
  5. I've only just seen this thread so this is my opinion: When you are a cyclist (which I am), if you've been cycling for a while (which I have), you gain confidence and know your abilities. So if you didn't feel confident attaching children or dogs to your bike, you wouldn't do it. But if you do, and know that nothing you do is going to harm them, you then take the risk that everyone else on the road is looking out for you. Unfortunately, they might not.
  6. In that case Elizabeth Diana will be perfect. No money going on though. I'm waiting for the Eurovision song contest!
  7. Me too, but I have to admit that as soon as I saw this thread, I couldn't wait to google the news to see if I'd missed anything.
  8. Come on guys. This is the exciting predictor thread. It isn't the place for bad feeling. Despite history, forgive, forget and chill out. Today is a new day :) PD, just remember who organises this and puts a lot of effort in to keep it running smoothly. If it wasn't for him, you wouldn't be at the top of the league because it would be non-existent. And watch out because I'm coming after you! ;-) So is anyone else predicting Palace to beat Chelsea?!
  9. maxxi, Thanks for your comments. They are appreciated and make a lot of sense.
  10. I'm not surprised my sarcasm got lost in translation. I was lost on the thread! I won't be going back there in a hurry.
  11. You missed the point there Otta. It was a sarcastic response because I asked a question and didn't get any sensible answers. And you've missed the exclamation marks off the eating out comment. Again, it was supposed to be a sarcastic attempt at humour. I hadn't actually finished. I would've continued but as you can see by my post in this thread, it got to the stage where I had no idea what they were on about so I left. Your comment wasn't much help either!
  12. Pseudo-intellectual bollox. Brilliant. I couldn't have put it better myself. Thanks RD :)
  13. I struggled through 2 minutes. That was enough. Sorry.
  14. Trying to get a word in (but failing) on the general election thread. What are they talking about?!!!!!!
  15. a) because they didn't respond to my original dc post b) because I've been here long enough to know that most people who post are not in that situation. They eat out most nights!!! ETA This is a reply to the post by Henry
  16. Oh, and isn't it strange that so many people here have so many opinions about things that don't really concern them? Obviously nobody in ED is poor, sick, young, unemployed or disabled, so live on a different planet to those that are. If there are only two choices (which there are), would it be Labour or Conservative? And then there's the fox hunting ban........
  17. No relevant views then. And don't you have to use a Financial Times password to access that link DaveR? Funnily enough I don't have one.
  18. david_carnell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > God help us all? Who would people that fall into any of the above categories vote for? And do Tory fans think those people will get a good deal if they vote to keep them in?
  19. Bournemouth may have a longer Premiership run than West Ham but my heart's already elsewhere. I'm not keen on the Hammers, but it's nothing to do with being a Millwall fan. There are a few teams I'm not keen on but Palace isn't one of them. They are probably my 3rd favourites in the league and I always hope they'll win. Everton have been high on my list all season but I also love Swansea! The way they play, the way they're run. They have potential to do so well. It depends what happens in the summer. There have been rumours of Garry Monk being stolen away which would be tragic for them.
  20. NEVER. I'm looking for a long term premier league team!
  21. Everton or Swansea Swansea or Everton Or both!!
  22. Well done Foxy. I admire you for sticking with them. I agree that nothing beats going to the match in person but it's so long since I've been, I've forgotten how that buzz feels. The biggest buzz ever was 5 years ago at Wembley. Amazing, but now they have to do it all again! And because of predictions/fantasy football etc., I've spent all my time following the premiership so my interest lies with teams there these days. I think they'll do better with Neil Harris so hopefully you'll be renewing your ST next year to watch them in the Championship again. :)
  23. Neil Harris finally gets the job permanently. It's a pity it didn't happen earlier when everyone knew that Holloway wasn't working out. A bit late now isn't it?
  24. After struggling for 5 years, they are back where they obviously belong. Hopeless.
