Local business leaving cars on residential road
DJKillaQueen replied to Sansoo2's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It depends if the owner of the vehicles is operating under any kind of licensing. If the owner parks their vehicles on a regular basis, either the local council or the area office of the traffic commissioners, who set operating restrictions on all transport firms - will know if they may be contravening these restrictions. Operators licences are required for commercial vehicles with a plated weight of 3.5tonnes or an unladen weight of 1.5tonnes. To gain a licence an operator has to provide details of where their vehicles will be parked, this is the operating centre. And there are differing lowering limits on the number of vehicles operated as to whether a company needs a licence. -

Yeah as someone says aboove, if the vehicles are legal they can park anywhere they are legally allowed to do so. -
Skidmarks come to mind for some reason!

It would only work on the condition no-one smiles....not even a twitch of the upper lip will be allowed. -
And I will start up the 'mortgageless militia' - just to create a balance.

Could they possibly be markings for pinch points? James should be able to find out for you.

lol.......Mat Murdock indeed...!

Sigh....you posted just to say that!.....I suggest you keep to the topic in hand instead of using it to exercise some personal vendetta that says more about you than me (like a jack in the box the pops once in a while to remind me you once disagreed with me on something - but you are not the only one to bear silly grudges of that nature). And yes I will call someone ingnorant when they make the kind of comments Silverfox has made not just on this thread but another currently in the drawing room (the kind of comments you would never see me or any sensible person make anytime soon).

Galliano -when sorry is not enough
DJKillaQueen replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
How do you know what Galliano believes. Do you know the Guy? No you don't. It doesn't matter what someone said beforehand, there is never any excuse for using the references he did to insult someone. Next you'll be saying that use of words like 'nigger' and 'poof' are acceptable in certain circumstances. They are not. There are some things that are just too deeply offensive, it's nothing to do with victim complexes as you call it but a mark of what a civilised society deems as acceptable - Galliano crossed that line of the unacceptable. -
People with mortgages have a certain maturity and sense of pride and industry. they have to get out of bed to earn money to pay the mortgage. now I know some of you will say that the same applies to many people renting. yes it does. and when you grow up and take on a mortgage the same rights will be given to you. What a completely idiotic thing to say. How do many first time buyers now get those mortagages? With a nice helping hand from mum and dad. To suggest that those working on average and below average salaries that can't afford mortgages which incidently includes Police, Nurses, Paramedics, Firemen etc are somehow immature shows just what an ignorant piece of work you are. Some people with mortgages have criminal records for example. Most of those without mortgages don't. Guns are a bad idea, end of. There are many other ways in which people can makes themselves less likely targets for robbery. And H is right, a good deal of those firearms would end up in the hands of the criminals who in turn will arm themselves anyway with like for like.

Or she could pretend to be drowning in front of him and hope he saves her life therefore demanding that she rewards him with lunch! If he let's her drown, then she knows where she stands at least :))

Ah well last week Belen broke his forum duck by visiting my ladies footy thread and then PMing a couple of them - but obviously got no takers. The English was far worse though so that's probably why........clearly a fruity loop off the usual forum richter scale......... And my happy index for today so far is? (6)

Last I heard a dog named woof was run over by a no.63 ghost bus on Lordship Lane, after chasing after the Meatwagon for scraps. It was a very sad tale indeed although the meatwagon made sure his carcass was put to good use ;-) Annette Curtain is the new totty on the block....and not I'm told a flea in sight....I wonder what she uses to clean her nets though?

Roadworks/bus diversion Rye Lane
DJKillaQueen replied to Twirly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sigh..no it doesn't mean that at all. They are waiting for Thames water to finish - can't resurface until they do and yes they are hassling Thames Water to get a move on and will be looking at measures that can be taken in future to get utility companies to be honest about how long work takes etc - it was in fact mentioned at the CC meeting on Thursday for Nunhead and Peckham Rye - the Council will be writing to Thames Water. The resurfacing incidently is on schedule. Instead of presuming anything, go ask a local councillor. There has been so much nonsense posted on this thread. -
Galliano -when sorry is not enough
DJKillaQueen replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
How was someone who makes vile comments like he did set up for goodness sake? Did someone force him to say he liked Hitler, or to make the comment about jews that he did? Wake up Silverfox and have a really good think about the comments/ behaviour you are defending. Most people would be equally disgusted by them and wonder just what else goes on in the mind of a person capable of making them. With regards to his job and status...he is a celebrity fashion desginer....with fame and celebrity comes some responsibility to not act like a dufus. He knows that as much as anyone. -
Goddness me Silverfox...I think you do yourself no favours with terms like 'Jewish Card'.

Galliano -when sorry is not enough
DJKillaQueen replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
At the end of the day Galliano has to take repsonsibility for the words that come out of his mouth. The fact that someone was at hand to record it is neither here nor there. I can not understand why anyone would even begin to defend him. His employer fired him because he's a liability and he has only himself to blame for that. -
ooooh...so it is lol.....:)-D

Twenty minutes in and I'm already think 'just what was the point?'. The original is brilliant and the remake is.......a copy.... minus the charisma of Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons to boot.
-
The other thing of course is that salt increases thirst and well......just saying like.
-
That's a bit unfair sidll. The meal was being paid for and the point of using salt for seasoning is to enhance flavour of the food not leave a salty tatse. And poor service is poor service after all.
-
And it allows other forumites to give advice on security, prevention and local organisations that can help.

If you must keep it outside (not adviasable probably).....get yourself a couple of these anchor points anchor point The beauty of these anchor points is that when the lock is through it they can't be unscrewed. I use them in my garage for my motorbike. Use good quality locks and make sure both wheels and frame are locked. You could also fit a bike alarm.

attempted break in , in Goodrich Rd.
DJKillaQueen replied to exwick's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The UPVC door issue is an annoying one. The Local authority has replaced most council homes with this kind of door - replacing doors that had seperate mortice and yale locks that were far more tricky to open via a letterbox (but not impossible). UPVC doors on the other hand have that lovely large handle bang in the middle of them - easy to pull down from the outside. There is a dead bolt on UPVC doors. It needs to be used at all times even when you are inside.
